Sometimes I get to a point when I'm reading a book, and I'm so scared of the potential heartbreak that I'm prayinggggg and begging the author (who has long published said book) to take it easy on my heart 😭😭 and write me something I can live with 😩
It's Friday
I'm not pregnant
I'm not begging a man to be nice to me
December is 3 months away
I'm not typing a paragraph to anybody's son begging for love
And pampers is not a part of my monthly budget
Life's good 🥂
Full grown adults that can’t swim, cycle, skate, backpack, take a gap year, vacation, play an instrument or speak multiple foreign languages. Just a lifetime of hustling and trying to leave survival mode. These are subtle poverty metrics that no one really talks about
1.The moment I start feeling like I’m begging them to be with me. It’s a wrap.👍
2. They’re comfortable with ignoring my messages for hours abd they’re online doing other things. It’s a wrap👍
3. I’ve complained about the same issue over and over and they’re not taking me seriously. It’s a wrap.👍
I actually love taking accountability because yes, I did say that and I’ll gladly tell you why I said it. 😭 Taking responsibility doesn’t mean I have to pretend there wasn’t a reason behind my actions.
Keep your problems smaller than your life. A flat tire is a flat tire. A bad meeting is a bad meeting. A canceled flight is just an extra two hours. These things become catastrophes when you let them. But they stay manageable when you remember the depth of your real life- the people you love, the work you care about, the beautiful years still ahead. Zoom out. Fit your reaction to the size of the problem.
i’m a big fan of reciprocation. you reach out, i reach out. you’re distant, i’m distant. you check on me, i check on you. you’re inconsistent, i’m inconsistent. you spoil me, i’m gonna spoil you. i deal with people exactly how they deal with me. nothing more, nothing less.
