@CaptJamyl They call us cowards for blocking people
But I see it differently
Not every battle needs a response, and not everyone deserves a front-row seat in your life.
Do I go to blocked list? NO!
I don’t even want to go there, see a name, and feel remorse and unblock. Once I block you, na till we meet, if we ever meet in real life, I fit unblock you. I no dey even remember you sef, my heart is that black 😄
Preamble: “ah! Capt you blocked me on WhatsApp! 😓 pls unblock me”.
I block for peace, once I unblock I’m interfering with my peace. It’s a really hard thing for me to unblock.
Then I remembered the CEO’s question.
That night, I emailed him.
His reply came within fifteen minutes.
“I was hoping you’d write.”
The next day, we met for coffee.
He smiled and said:
“I didn’t ask that question to make you stay. I asked it because I wanted you to know what you were actually selling.”
He then offered me my old position back—with a salary increase I never asked for.
I accepted.
The following morning, I resigned from my new job.
When people found out, they thought I was crazy for leaving more money behind.
They didn’t understand what my CEO had already taught me.
“A higher salary can change your lifestyle.”
“A healthier workplace can change your life.”
That conversation completely changed how I define success.
Sometimes, the best career move isn’t the one that pays the most.
It’s the one that lets you enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build.
