क‍िसी को नहीं पता था क‍ि अपोलो हॉस्प‍िटल लखनऊ में ली गई ये सेल्‍फी कंचन गुप्‍ता की आख‍िरी तस्‍वीर बन जाएगी। 30 द‍िन लगातार मेड‍िकल टेररिज्म, धनपशु डॉक्‍टर के आतंक से लड़कर कंचन ने प्राण त्‍याग द‍िये। पीछे छोड़ द‍िया न‍िरंकुश डॉक्‍टरों और लुटेरों अस्‍पतालों का ऐसा कच्‍चा च‍िट्ठा जो इस पूरे पेशे को ही कटघरे में खड़ा कर देता है। तसल्‍ली से पूरी कहानी पढ़‍ियेगा।

कन्‍नौज की कंचन भाजपा से पार्षद भी रह चुकी हैं। उनके पत‍ि पुनीत गुप्‍ता बीजेपी में हैं, उन्‍होंने हमें फोन पर जो बताया, उसे वैसे ही ल‍िख रहा हूं।

कंचन को पेट में दर्द हुआ। स्‍थानीय डॉक्‍टर ने बताया क‍ि पित्त की थैली की जगह पर पथरी है। ऑपरेशन होगा। दोस्‍त ने बताया क‍ि लखनऊ के अपोलो हॉस्प‍िटल में इसके अच्छे डॉक्‍टर हैं। पुनीत कंचन को लेकर अस्‍पताल पहुंचे। जांच हुई। 50 हजार रुपए का खर्च बताया गया। 21 अप्रैल को तारीख सुन‍िश्‍च‍ित हुई।

पहला द‍िन- डॉक्‍टर सही बीमारी नहीं पकड़ पाए। इंडोस्कोपी के दौरान आंत में कट लग गया।
दूसरा द‍िन- ब‍िना सीटी स्‍कैन, ब‍िना ऑपरेशन के जनरल वार्ड में भर्ती कराया।
तीसरा द‍िन- शरीर में इंफेक्‍शन फैलने लगा। कंचन को बेइंतहा दर्द हुआ। सीटी स्‍कैन हुआ। पेट में ड्रेन नली पड़ी। ICU में श‍िफ्ट क‍िया गया।
चौथा द‍िन- मरीज आईसीयू में रहा, कोई अपडेट नहीं दी गई।
पांचवां द‍िन- पहले द‍िन डाले गये गलत स्‍टंट को न‍िकालकर बड़ा मेटल स्‍टंट डाला गया। इसके बाद अगले तीन द‍िन तक अस्‍पताल में रखा।
आंठवां द‍िन- रात में पेट का बड़ा ऑपरेशन कर इंफेक्टेड फ्लूड निकालने के लिए 5 जगह से ड्रेनेज नली लगी। लिक्विड फूड देने के लिए आंत से जुड़ा फूड पाइप डाला गया।
तेरहवां द‍िन- एक नस से फ्लूड बैग में प्‍योर ब्‍लड आने लगा। एंज्‍योग्राफी करके नस को ब्‍लॉक क‍िया गया।

इस दौरान पहले द‍िन 50 हजार रुपए जमा करवाये गये। इसके बाद कहा गया क‍ि मरीज की हालत खराब हो रही, 3 लाख रुपए और लगेंगे। पुनीत ने कहीं से पैसों की व्‍यवस्‍था की। फ‍िर डॉक्‍टर ने बताया क‍ि अब 1 से डेढ़ लाख रुपए का खर्च प्रत‍िद‍िन का है। खैर पर‍िजन पैसों की जुगत में लगे रहे।

15वें द‍िन डॉक्‍टर ने कहा क‍ि इन्‍हें कहीं और ले जाइये। पर‍िजन घबरा गये। बोले क‍ि ऐसी स्‍थ‍ित‍ि में कहां ले जाऊंगा। अस्‍पताल की तरफ से बताया गया क‍ि 4 लाख रुपए और जमा कर‍िये। पुनीत ने कर्ज लेकर पैसा जमा करवाया। अब 7 लाख से ज्‍यादा का खर्च हो चुका था। 17 लाख का ब‍िल बन चुका था। गौरतलब है क‍ि ऑपरेशन का खर्च महज 50 हजार रुपए बताया गया था।

16वें द‍िन कहा गया क‍ि आप अब पीजीआई ले जाइये। वहां हमने डॉक्‍टर से बात कर ली है। रेफर कर द‍िया गया

17वें से 30वें द‍िन- पीजीआई में मरीज को लगातार वेंटिलेटर सपोर्ट पर रखा गया। धीरे-धीरे हार्ट , लीवर, लंग्स , किडनी, पैनक्रियाज सब फेल होने लगा। 20 मई को कंचन ने आख‍िरी सांस ली। पर‍िजन ने जब मौत की वजह पूछी तो पीजीआई के डॉक्‍टर ने बताया क‍ि 5वें द‍िन जो मेटल स्‍टंट डाला गया था, वह गलत जगह डाल द‍िया गया था ज‍िसका कोई इलाज नहीं था। सोचिए, वैसे तो पीजीआई में क‍िसी को एडम‍िट करवाना हो तो छीकें आज जाएं, लेक‍िन उस द‍िन तुरंत एडम‍िट कर ल‍िया गया।

मैं फ‍िर से पुरानी बात दोहरा रहा, इस देश में अगर स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य और श‍िक्षा क्षेत्र का लूट बंद हो जाए तो म‍िड‍िल क्‍लास की आधी समस्‍या खुद खत्‍म हो जाएगी।

Mayo clinic in the US produces 8,000 papers annually, which is more than the entire Indian private sector.
We are missing both quality and quantity of research output which is also a major factor in ranking medical institutions all over the world. Govt must demand quality and quantity of research output from private hospitals instead of focusing on profiteering.
