I don’t know if it’s just me, but it doesn’t sit well with me seeing those accounts constantly talking about this discovery. It begins to feel less like sharing information and more like pushing a particular narrative. Sometimes, less is more.
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.

PRESS RELEASE
TERRORISTS RESORT TO PROPAGANDA AS OPERATION HADIN KAI SUSTAINS DECISIVE ONSLAUGHT
The attention of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has been drawn to a renewed propaganda campaign by remnants of Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), who are currently circulating old photographs and recycled media reports in a desperate attempt to mislead the public into believing they retain the capability to unleash mayhem on troops and law-abiding citizens.
One such recycled publication is a 9 July 2020 report by YNaija, which falsely resurfaces with bodies of soldiers and claims to be an ambush on Nigerian soldiers. Our fact-check mechanism shows that the report was posted a decade ago. These events are being mischievously recirculated to create panic and distort the current security realities in the North East, where the terrorists are currently in disarray.
The public is hereby informed that these materials are not recent and do not reflect the present operational situation on the ground. At no point recently has Operation HADIN KAI lost 20 soldiers. The improved capabilities and well-coordinated air and ground assaults on the terrorists are yielding the required results to the disadvantage of the terrorists.
Contrary to the false narratives being pushed by terrorists and their sympathizers, the operational reality indicates that insurgent elements are in severe disarray following sustained, coordinated air and ground offensives by Operation HADIN KAI. Within the past one week alone, troops have delivered decisive blows on terrorist enclaves and logistics networks across multiple fronts. At Miyanti, Gajigana and Gajiram, terrorists who attempted to regroup were overwhelmingly engaged, resulting in the neutralization of scores of fighters. Troops recovered dangerous weapons and equipment, including anti-aircraft platforms, rocket bombs, machine guns and assorted rifles abandoned by fleeing insurgents.
In another significant breakthrough at Chabbal checkpoint, vigilant troops intercepted logistics supplies and a cash sum of thirty-seven million naira intended to finance terrorist operations. This interception has dealt a major setback to their sustainment capability. Similarly, at Komala in Konduga Local Government Area, troops pursued marauding terrorists along the Gidan Kaji axis, neutralizing sixteen insurgents. Twenty bicycles, weapons and a cache of critical logistics items essential to the terrorists’ survival were recovered and destroyed.
These cumulative successes within a single week highlight the sustained degradation of terrorist capabilities. Unable to withstand the overwhelming operational pressure and battlefield dominance of troops, the terrorists have now resorted to psychological warfare, recycling outdated images and misleading publications to project a false sense of strength.
The Joint Task Force urges members of the public and media organizations to verify information from credible official sources before sharing content that may aid terrorist propaganda. Citizens are encouraged to remain calm, continue their lawful activities and support security agencies with timely and actionable information.
Operation HADIN KAI remains resolute, focused and committed to the total defeat of terrorism and the restoration of lasting peace and stability in the North East.

BREAKING NEWS: Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has said competence and loyalty to the people of the state will be the determining factors in choosing his successor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Four years ago, a high level meeting comprising of Yoruba Progressives was hosted by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The meeting ended with all the leaders endorsing Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole Candidate. Only two among these guys rejected vehemently. One was Osinbajo, a former Commissioner of Justice under Tinubu’s Administration in Lagos who Tinubu eventually nominated as running mate to Muhammadu Buhari....and the second one was a well known Tinubu’s boy and mentee who was also a commissioner for works under Tinubu’s administration in Lagos. The two, at that time, had become Abuja senior boys with power and deep pockets strong enough to challenge not just Tinubu but also the entire leaders and associates in the SW.
The result was a bloody nose given to them by their Master, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, publicly at Eagle Square where he defeated them abysmally as if he wasn't the one who birthed them politically. It was a ugly defeat and up till now, Aregbesola hasn't recovered, but Osinbajo seems to have accepted the judgment of God.
Good morning to all Progressives only ❤️
This hospital exists to train competent medical professionals, advance meaningful research, and provide quality care that strengthens our healthcare system. My prayer is that all who work, learn, and receive care here uphold excellence, compassion, and responsibility.
The choices you make are yours. You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone. But a lot of us feel this need to do so. Perhaps we want to be liked by everyone. Or to fit in. Whatever it is, stick to your decisions. If you think you’re wrong, correct them.
Nigerians bore witness to a chilling display of lawlessness yesterday, as the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) exposed the depths of its desperation to retain power at all costs — through sheer political brigandage and the subversion of democracy.
In Osun State, the APC orchestrated a full-scale assault on the democratic process, attempting to hijack the local government elections through brute force. Armed thugs and mercenaries, operating under the party’s protection, launched an audacious bid to seize control of all 30 local government area council secretariats. And yet, the so-called national leadership of the APC and the presidency watched in complicit silence.
Had it not been for the fearless resistance of Osun people — who stood their ground against the APC’s rampaging foot soldiers — democracy in the state would have been trampled under the boots of political marauders acting at the behest of their party’s overlords.
Let this be clear: Osun State will never bow to anti-democratic forces. The people have shown beyond doubt that they will not allow their electoral rights to be stolen, no matter the level of intimidation.
We demand that security agencies deployed for Saturday’s elections uphold their constitutional duty with professionalism, refusing to be used as enforcers of APC’s criminal agenda. The world is watching.
These are dangerous times. The APC has abandoned any pretence of democratic legitimacy, resorting instead to brute force in its bid to cling to power — even as the people have overwhelmingly rejected it.
We commend the brave citizens of Osun for standing up to the tyranny that sought to break them. Their resilience is a beacon of hope in the face of unrelenting oppression.
Tinubu’s APC has left no doubt — it will stop at nothing to subvert democracy and impose itself against the will of the people. But Nigerians must resist. The time-honored warning remains true: eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.
President Bola A. Tinubu, @officialABAT, and his dwindling band of enablers must cease their reckless acts of political sabotage — not just in Osun or Lagos, but across Nigeria. The people demand governance, not chaos. Nigerians will not sit idly while their democracy is hijacked by a power-drunk regime intent on setting the country on fire.
Enough is enough. -AA
