you think people, after hearing
"the guy who has spent his entire career trying to think as logically as possible has come to the conclusion that AI will kill us all"
wouldn't go "wow how can a guy like that be so wrong" without any further thought
Yudkowsky has spent his entire career championing Bayesian epistemology: the discipline of reasoning under uncertainty using probability theory. Now he’s arrived at the categorical “stop AI or everyone dies.” It’s hard not to see this as a demonstration of just how far his reasoning can drift from his own proclaimed rationality principles. How irrational can the founder of the Yudkowskian-rationalist movement go? 🙃
This is doing decently well on instagram, but I largely agree that most of the fellows aren't super good at short form. I think most people have improved quite a bit, and it's been a great networking experience. It's already massively improved my life, at least
the content coming out of plsdontkillus is bad and they should do some self reflection on the quality of their output. Short form made by people who don't watch short form.
