@iamkapilan These investments don't see positive returns from the $50 USD per day tourist. To support backpackers, the state needs to invest more and arbitrarily keep costs down. Not good for business and at the end of the day tourism is a for-profit business. @iamkapilan

@iamkapilan The tourist that pays $50 USD per day is actually costing the county more to facilitate his stay. The cost of highways, public transportation, internet access etc.

@iamkapilan You need a move away from the backpacker tourist. The, longer they stay in country the more costly it is for Sri Lanka to house them. It’s basic economics.
