This is going to probably be my only gripe with the new Star Fox, is the writing doesn’t look good and the voice acting feels worse in a lot of places. Falco seems like he’ll be hardest hit.
“This is horrible …” was delivered with such dismay that you could hear that beneath his cocky demeanor he actually cared.
“Andross sure has trashed the place” is delivered with almost a tonal shrug, like he gives zero sh*ts about anything happening in front of him.
Likewise …
“Falco here. I’m fine.” is so distinctly cocky that you instantly know he’s a brash and impatient pilot. It makes the fact his g-diffuser fails later more of a “Wait a second” moment.
“G diffuser … *shrug, head shake* Seems fine. Let’s just go already.” makes him sound like an idiot who doesn’t even know how his plane works, and he’s supposed to be the best pilot in the group. It doesn’t make sense and it practically punches the player in the face with foreshadowing. So when his g diffuser fails later it’s like, “Well, yeah, he didn’t even seem to know how it worked. Of course it would fail.”
Maybe the rest of the story will be fine but so far the “reimagined” voice lines are worse than the original.
Nintendo has changed Falco's quote from "This is horrible..." to "Andross sure has trashed the place" for the Nintendo Switch 2 release of Star Fox 64 remake.
Finally played/streamed @MarathonTheGame today and I gotta say it’s a PHENOMENAL game.
MUCH more punishing that I thought it was going to be and I can’t wait to get back in and play more of it
In today’s episode of “This is so tiresome”
Mina the Hollower is an honest-to-goodness indie game developed, financed, and published all by a small studio of like 15 people. Everyone left, right, center, and top-to-bottom is rightfully praising it as a great game.
And then you get single-brain-cell grifters like this trying to call it slop because game journalists like it, and trying to use Steam charts as evidence when the game is also available on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch 2
Do not listen to idiots like this.
Mina the Hollower is yet another proof game urinalists have completely lost their relevance/influence
68 reviews, a whopping 93 average, the year's highest
Yet, a wet fart of <13k concurrent player peak

@phubans I mean I never specifically called it a "small studio for an indie game", I just called it a small studio, which it is. Scope of the game is irrelevant there 🤷♂️
I’m not spinning the narrative. He used Mina’s concurrent player count on Steam to try and make the game seem unpopular so he could insult game journalists.
Steam concurrent players are an unreliable statistic here because they doesn’t show purchases (the actual success metric for single-player games). OP also does not take into account the fact it’s the #1 game on the Switch 2 eShop and in the top 5 on Switch 1.
It’s also available on Xbox and PlayStation which we don’t have sales numbers for.
So, no, I’m not spinning a narrative. I’m calling out someone for trying to use 1 unreliable statistic to try and make a good game look like it’s performing and selling worse than it is just so he could try and score points against games journos.
Have a nice day.
