आश्विन शुक्ल चतुर्थी को भगवान गणेश के कपर्दिश विनायक स्वरूप की आराधना की परंपरा है। यह मासिक विनायक चतुर्थी का एक विशेष रूप माना जाता है।

इस दिन प्रातः स्नान कर सात्त्विक व्रत का संकल्प लें। मध्याह्न में भगवान गणेश को दूर्वा, पुष्प, अक्षत, फल और मोदक या सात्त्विक नैवेद्य अर्पित करें। “ॐ गं गणपतये नमः” मंत्र का श्रद्धापूर्वक जाप करें।

विनायक चतुर्थी पर चन्द्रदर्शन से बचने की पारंपरिक मान्यता भी प्रचलित है; इसका समय स्थान के अनुसार बदलता है।

कपर्दिश चतुर्थी हमें सिखाती है कि विवेक, एकाग्रता और शांत मन के साथ कठिन परिस्थितियों का सामना करना भी साधना का ही एक रूप है।
