This was Yesterday on @talkSPORT with the legend @RealRazor — had to drag him along cos I know NOTHING about football! 😂

This is all for something very real — the Men And Their Emotions (MATE) charity celebrity football match at Swindon Town’s County Ground on Sunday 3rd May 2026. We’re raising funds for men’s mental health in honour of local lad Steven Bailey, who tragically took his own life earlier last year.

Proceeds going straight to our M.A.T.E charity — that massive online Facebook community of around 64,000 blokes where lads can talk anonymously, share what they’re going through, and get proper support and counselling. No judgement, just real help when you need it most.

This means the world to me, we’ve lost too many good lads that were just lost, if we can get more talking and supporting each other, doing counciling it’s worth every kick of the ball.

It’s gonna be a cracking family fun day out — celebs vs ex-pros, loads of laughs, and hopefully some decent footy (from the pros lol)

The Notting Hill Carnival might have been saved for 2025 due to additional funding provided by the office of the Mayor of London, and two councils, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster for security. But the news that Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, refused to make even the slightest of contribution is very sad and evidence of how little she values an event which has become synonymous with a history and culture of a people she was claiming to celebrate just a few weeks ago, an event where Londoners and spectators from across the globe gather to celebrate, mostly peacefully, and one which is said to add £400 million to London's economy.

There are genuine safety and security fears as there are with any large event - 2 million people makes for a huge crowd. But of the two murders attributed to carnival last year, one was not on the carnival route and the other involved someone with no ties to the event. Large events will attract criminals, and serious ones too.

The Notting Hill Carnival Trust must stand up and defend the carnival by putting a stop to the notion that anything that happens on the day, or in the vicinity, is anything to do with carnival. And whilst promoting and working towards safeguarding the carnival, the Trust must also explore how those businesses who profit from carnival, can contribute to its development and security.

But for now, the carnival might just live to see another year. After that, those of us who value it may have to face some stark choices.
