@craftsman Is there a list of purple button compatible remotes? I'm trying to replace it now, but am not feeling any guarantees that what I am looking at next will even work with my opener.
@searscares dealing with this @craftsman 957938 garage door opener remote from @sears has been infuriating. I followed the instructions to a T. I have been transferred all over the place when seeking phone support. I just want to program my remote. The store refuses refund.
Lesson #18:
If you had your carpet cleaned, furniture rearranged, or moved your equipment to another room/outlet and now all the sudden your service is not working, please lead off/fuss up to that first before we waste your/our time trying to troubleshoot where you have it now,
Lesson #17:
"It's doing nothing" is not an acceptable answer for any question a tech support representative asks. There is always -something- more going on to describe the situation. You are getting an error message, the lights are not on, it says you are not connected, etc.
Lesson #16:
If you have service in more than one home/business, and the problem only has anything to do with just one of these accounts, do not mention the other account. Unless there's actually a related problem between the two, you will only serve to confuse the situation.
Lesson #15:
Netflix ≠TV
Do not degrade Netflix like that.
When you tell us your "TV" isn't working, that sounds like an entirely different issue.
Not being able to use streaming services is an internet problem. Not a TV problem.
Lesson #14:
We most likely do not live in your town.
Most cities these days have multiple area codes covering them.
Do not assume we know the area code of your phone number.
Give us the full ten digit phone number every time.
Lesson #13:
When we ask for you to try a troubleshooting step and you say "I'VE ALREADY TRIED THAT!!", and then we say "then it probably won't help this time either". We know that you were lying before when you say "I'LL TRY IT AGAIN ANYWAY AND SEE IF THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!"
Lesson #11:
If your bill is, lets says $150, and there's a service outage for maybe 4 hours, you are looking about $0.81 credit. Enjoy the Sonic Corndog you might be able to get with that.
Advice #3:
Reboot your router. In general it's not a bad thing to do periodically. But with this recent #RussianVPNFilter scandal, it's all the more important. All technology could use a break from time to time, especially those that are always on.
Advice #1:
If having to walk back and forth between your modem and devices is that arduous, there may be aspects of your life that could be reassessed.
Lesson #10:
If you are not tech savvy or not in a good mood, and there is someone there with you who is, have them call us or cut straight to handing them the phone.
