@CrappyFumes it doesn't even mean "still try to be ethical but know that purity in this regard is practically impossible so just do your best" it means "push for systemic change because meaningful change for the better can't be done thru personal consumer choices"
Really hate that ppl think “no ethical consumption” means “just do whatever fuck it ” and not “still try to be ethical but know that purity in this regard is practically impossible so just do your best”
I mean, I understand the intent behind my cis friends trying to tell me not to worry about all this anti-trans rhetoric. I have been inordinately stressed.
But, honestly, it feels a little like chickens telling the pigs not to worry about breakfast.
BREAKING NEWS: Justice Secretary Dominic Raab has stated that the UK government will no longer house trans women who “have male genitalia” or who have been convicted of a sexual offence in women’s prisons. This conflates two categories which have no connection to one another. 1/
this is an example of the broader issue which is that we should be campaigning for gender decertification, which is an actual non-reformist reform, reducing the power of state and gender over our lives.
i think lots of people don't know the "gender recognition register" even exists. it does. yes i know it's not open to the public. i do not want any state government to have that thing.
dyou ever think about how we got trapped into campaigning for "easier" gender recognition instead of for deleting the government-maintained list of trans people
noticing a trend where people even on the left are saying justin roiland or andrew tate or whoever the guy of the week is was "cancelled" when what they actually mean is that they were arrested. for sex crimes. they weren't cancelled. they went to jail. those are not the same!
@kommanderkarl Overall, liked it, found it technically interesting, & the biggest win for the 3D HFR combo: i didn’t have a headache when I left the cinema
@kommanderkarl I found some of the 48fps segments super engaging (underwater, space, latter parts of the film) and some of them looked not so good (train sabotage early on). Going back down to 24 for less action-packed segments is a good choice - 48 would’ve killed a lot of the emotional weight
This is one of the most impressive compression ratios I've ever seen! 261MB down to less than 1MB
The FF7 Remake save files are almost entirely NUL. It looks a bit like they're their own miniature filesystem of some kind with a LOT of preallocated unused space.
In general I don’t play games when they come out. I’ve just finished my first ever play through of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Steph Sterling’s 7/10 is right on the money. It’s good, I enjoyed it.
