Imagine those properties being accumulated by a side chick. Our fathers before us (whose example we’ve unfortunately not found repulsive) had side chicks too, but they maintained them with honest, hard-earned money. In most cases, the only “cost” was buying groceries. There was no grotesque distortion of the village economy. What we are witnessing today is on a completely different and far more destructive scale. It is vulgar.

I can almost stand the idea that we live among thieves. What I cannot tolerate is the way stolen wealth has been used to suffocate the future of young, decent, hardworking professionals. The prices you see in the market are not real; they are artificial, inflated by looted public money and criminal greed. That is why land, housing, and basic property have become impossible for ordinary people to afford.

This is not just corruption. It is economic sabotage. It is the hijacking of opportunity. It is the deliberate destruction of a generation’s chance to build wealth through honest work. The long-term consequences of this kind of greed are devastating, and if we do not confront it head-on, we are normalizing a system that rewards theft and punishes integrity.

We must call this out, resist it, and fight it in the name of justice, fairness, and the future of this country.

Virginia Mabiza, the attorney general of Zimbabwe who is a trained lawyer, says the constitutional court of that country should throw out a case brought by the country’s war veterans challenging the extension of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office without hearing its merits.

President Mnangagwa drove through a raft of amendments in the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, which is now an act of parliament.
The new law illegally extends President Mnangagwa’s term of office to 2030, instead of 2028, when his current term officially and legally ends after serving two terms.

The new law, now called the Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3, also removes the right of Zimbabweans to elect the president directly.
It also extends the presidential term from five years to seven, and allows the president to pick a certain number of MPs directly.

In a country where the judiciary is evidently captured by the ruling ZANUPF party, the attorney general’s words send a chilling message to the judges to strike off a case without being heard.

Zimbabwe’s political crisis has sent hundreds of thousands of its citizens into South Africa, both legally and illegally, as the economy collapsed under the weight of mismanagement and corrupt rule creating an unemployment rate of around 90 percent.

The regional bloc SADC has looked the other way, failing to enforce its own election protocols, using a framework that exists only in name. Zimbabwe’s opposition collapsed through bribery and deliberate, engineered policy failures.

Maybe its just me but the human mind is fascinating. Imagine giving USD50 every week at church because offerings start at USD50 meanwhile you stay in Chitungwiza or Budiriro and during the week you ask combi drivers to seat pa kadoma so that you save money to give to the prophet the following Sunday. 🔸Air Zimbabwe inherited an airline that had 50 flights a week to Bulawayo in 1980. An air ticket cost $22,40 return. At the weekend, the flight cost $9 each way. This was in local currency.

And where are we now? Celebrating a wet lease? One second-hand plane? Come on. We are bigger than this nonsense of celebrating mediocrity.

As usual, the GoZ decided to embarrass itself by celebrating a wet lease on an old inefficient aircraft.

@FlyAirZimbabwe is likely to bleed more money from this transaction, the A330-302 is the least popular in the airbus family due to lack of fuel efficiency, loud cabins and outdated passenger in-flight entertainment.

There is no WiFi on the plane (unless they add Starlink later), no passenger screen, no USB charging ports something that is even standard on buses.

Why would a Zimbabwean in Europe ditch @qatarairways @emirates and soon to come @etihad for a Zupco? No one considered competition no one considered fuel efficiency and effect on margins.

A wet lease on B787 would have been more ideal.
