Do you know how to spot Jaundice on Black babies?
We’ve been working behind the scenes on a new resource designed to support and empower Black and Brown parents and it’s finally here.
In collaboration with Bliss, NHS Medway, Kent and Medway Neonatal Network, NHS England South East, and the Race & Health Observatory, we’re proud to share ‘A Parent’s Guide to Recognising Jaundice in Black and Brown Babies’.

Yesterday, we attended the Black Maternal Health APPG at the Houses of Parliament, proudly supporting the vital work of @fivexmore. It was inspiring to see neonatal care take centre stage, with an insightful talk from Consultant Neonatologist Dr. Helen Gbinigie, on the critical importance of identifying jaundice symptoms in Black and darker skin tones—a crucial step toward advancing equity in neonatal care. #BlackMaternalHealth

The details which have emerged from the Lucy Letby trial are incomprehensible. We know this will be particularly hard for those with #neonatal experiences, as well as healthcare professionals up and down the country who work tirelessly to support babies born premature or sick.
KSS Neonatal ODN organised a Culture and Communication 3 day Programme for International health professionals. The programme was well received by all and will support cultural transition and communication of all attendees.

It was great to hear about your support for fathers at the #nnccg conference, and to talk with you both. @swneonatal are pleased to be exploring how we can work together to support dads/partners in our region.
WE DID IT!! 🎉🎉🎉 We are thrilled that the Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Bill reached royal assent today! Around 60,000 parents annually will benefit from up to 12 weeks’ leave and pay when their babies are born needing neonatal care.
But while today is full of celebration, we know parents need this support right now. Help us bring forward the expected implementation date from April 2025, by emailing your MP to take a stand here, it only takes a few minutes https://t.co/Wi5RUfmgfq
