No ethical farting under brapitalism

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

@BritbongTommy Agreed, and I have Very Strong opinions about the whole thing. You can absolutely map the spectrum of reactions to a bell curve, where the midwit position is acting like you're heckin media literate just by posting half baked dunks on X The Everything App

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

Saying "you can criticize me if I do the same thing" is dumb, the original criticism is incoherent. Get your bag ig, but people are responding "heh, where's the lie?" or "OMG he's so right!" and now this concept colors how some engage with VNs. More people are more dumb now.

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

What I hate about this "streamer is purposefully ignorant about a medium they clearly never engage with beyond a surface level" discourse is that it's manufactured as hell. You can feel how each step taken was to maximize engagement and controversy, even if it pushed bullcrap

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

By that I mean, in the stream they get weirdly mad about the nonsense "criticisms" of "trends" in FVNs, then clipped and posted it with a "omg look how mad I get in this rant!" engagement caption, and then went "well I'm right but I SAID it wasn't serious! Don't get mad bro ;)"

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

@mb_boyo You don't understand! I can say something that falls apart under any scrutiny, say it as angrily as I like for engagement, reassert that I think it's 100% correct after the fact, but if you want to talk about it genuinely? Bro I already said it was nonsensical! Why do you care?

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

@SaintBullArt "Furries see shitty backgrounds and sprites and call it peak writing."
Visuals != writing. The writing is the most important part, it's a visual NOVEL. I struggle to articulate everything I hate about this whole dramafarming episode, there's just too much bullshit folded in

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

Ignore the typo. Please ignore the typo...

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

It's one thing to be reading or consuming nsfw content while underage (I think most of us were at least dipping our toes in as horny teenagers). But these teenagers TALKING ABOUT DOING SO ON THE INTERNET. AND shitting up all discussion of Echo Project narrative content lol

[Muffin 🇨🇿 @CatReviewer]

> joins adastra discord server

the fandom of adastra, the penis game, everyone

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

Yeah man I want "18" year olds who have read TSR, Echo, Adastra, Khemia, and somehow no other writing beyond sparknotes summaries of what they were assigned in honors english to cover my timeline in "😭😭😭" when trying to talk about the nuances of character or setting. I love it

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

@BritbongTommy If I had to throw out a reason, maybe a lack of "big names" in the credits or a lack of large accounts doing livetweets during their reading? But even still. Really doesn't get enough credit for its quality, and the audio/visual work is so meticulous it's inspiring

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

Is there value in diverse consumption? Is it worthwhile to cultivate taste? Yes, but it's for YOUR benefit so you can appreciate and enjoy things more. Maybe even to motivate creating what you want to see. Not to beat out a goomba-fallacied amalgam on social media.

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

As these discourses come and go, what strikes me most is that their core function is (usually) to make a group feel superior to another. More moral, more tasteful, more intelligent than those nasty [whoever]. So they keep cropping up despite their place on thoroughly trod ground.

[Orion 🔜 MFF @Aluminemsiren]

SFW vs NSFW FVNs is such a surface level and boring topic to revisit for the 20th time.

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

There are a lot of SFW furry games and VNs. There are a lot of NSFW furry games and VNs (maybe more, because libido drives creation and sales). Read and play whatever, post about whatever, but above all don't grow an ego about what you consume. Enjoy first, discourse fifteenth.

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

@BritbongTommy It's also awesome because they preemptively declare in the meme that if you're cis male, that's why you think the slander is really really stupid (and also you're a sex pest). Gee, I wonder if the vast majority of gay furry VN readers (if people even read on tiktok) are cis male!

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

*BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

More than anything, it's just bad slander. It's confused, it's self-contradictory, it portrays very normal things as "objectionable," it expands specific and nuanced events into widespread negative stigma. The best the creator can hope to do is a "heh, you fell for the ragebait!"

[🦦Atmac @SkyePeenut]

More than half of the novels mentioned in this low tier slander have well written women. I think TikTok communities just radicalized y'all and made you homophobic...

Also these memes usually attack an entire group of people instead of the one person they actually refer to.

[Templarleos @Templarleos]

It comes off as someone who hasn't read much/has poor comprehension reacting to other, probably way too young people who haven't read much either. Enjoy reading first, engage in fandom discourse fifteenth.

Also this thread has less text than the bottom left corner. Mucho texto
