As I have pondered on President Nelson’s general conference message over the last several days, I continue to be inspired by the beautiful prophetic promises he made. How grateful I am to be able to continue to learn of God’s love and plan for me as I worship in His holy houses.

Because Jesus Christ endured the infinite atoning sacrifice, He empathizes perfectly with us. The marks in the palms of His hands continually remind Him of you and your circumstances.

Jesus Christ overcame the world and “absorbed” all unfairness. Because of Him, we can have peace in this world and be of good cheer. For those who come unto Him, joy and gladness will replace grief and sorrow. #BecauseofHim

At the Samdech Euv Samdech Mé Referral Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has partnered with leaders of the hospital to help increase the level and quality of care they are able to provide. The healthcare providers here are deeply committed to helping people, and it’s an honor to see the success of this facility.

This is just one example of how the Church of Jesus Christ, its missionaries, and its members are striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ and go about doing good. All of us, all over the world, can make a difference because of our faith.

Filming for the “Book of Mormon Videos” has wrapped, and new videos completing the 45-episode series will be released in time for the 2024 “Come, Follow Me” study of the Book of Mormon.

This week it was my opportunity to attend the Festival of Lights at the Washington DC Temple. For 46 years, the JW Marriott, Jr family has promoted, sponsored and attended this event. The lighting ceremony is held at the visitors center where guests may see a large crèche exhibit of nativities from around the world.

Ambassadors, diplomats and others were invited to come on Tuesday and Wednesday nights to experience the event. The special guest and speaker this year was Mr. Jaime Ramon T. Ascalon, Jr, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines. He and Madame Maria Lourdes M Romualdez, wife of the ambassador from the Philippines, pushed the button to illuminate over 400,000 lights. 

 I also spoke about five gifts we can give each other:

-The gift of  tolerance by rejecting hatred;
-The gift of acceptance by rejecting demonizing entire peoples because of the actions of a few;
-The gift of understanding by not judging others others solely on outward characteristics;
-The gift of civility and decency by rejecting condemnation, maligning and vilifying others who disagree with us;
-The gift of advancing society by respecting all people, especially those who have a different viewpoint. 

Jesus came to earth as a humble baby yet is the light of the world. He came to bring peace, love, and joy. The lightings around the Washington DC visitors center symbolize His and the Father’s great gifts to us.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the locations for three new temples. They are the Vienna Austria Temple, the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Temple and the Winchester Virginia Temple. Learn more on Newsroom.
