Papa Adeboye is highly conservative and in the position of father figure to the nation. A father in his class won’t fight roughly in the public with political leaders that go to him for guidance. Bishop Oyedepo spit fire hitting hard on bad governance.
There has been overwhelmingly call on Papa Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo to speak to political leaders in addressing bad governance. Yes, these two leading fathers of faith have tremendous influence with political leaders and they do their bits.
They speak to the politicians in the private and also in the open space. Pastors put in a lot in engaging politicians. It is often in the private and sometimes they openly criticize unpopular govt policies and directions. It would be a cheap blackmail for anyone to deny this.
The problem with many people is that they would only accept Pastors speaking truth to power if it is roughly conducted in the public space.
Why is it difficult for people to accept that Pastors are not and should not necessarily be enemies of politicians.
We must have strong laws that punish stealing in the colours of capital punitive measure.
It is good government is clamping down heavily on the Yahoo Yahoo menace and running them out of market but is the system punishing top government officials stealing the nation blind?
Yahoo And Stolen Money
How do people groom the courage to get themselves involved in the criminality of stolen money either as government officials or private citizens? Does it mean anything to them risking their freedom and reputation?
The Yahoo boys steals mindlessly and blow money like it will keep flowing. They are dangerous human beings that should be holed under capital punishment. These bunch of criminals along side stealing government officials are disgrace to humanity and dangerous to the nation.
I strongly patronize firm and strict leadership but implementation process should have space for human face in delivery. This is not a call for compromise or softness but having respect for human dignity. Leadership can be firm and still be compassionate.
Leadership delivery in the drive of policy is critical to the success of the programme. There are leadership drive that are firm and wicked. That kind of leadership got low human face value in policy implementation.
Unprepared Leadership
The Nigerian story has been a thorn in the midst of flowers. We have pains in the flood of potentials and deep lack in the reality of abundance. The irony of the Nigerian state is a twisted evil.
We have not had intentional leadership for the major part of the nation’s journey. Nigeria has been largely governed by accidental leaders. We have had series of leaders that were not mentally ready to lead. They found themselves in office and just couldn’t rise to the demand.
There are two sides to the coin of the rampaging hellish corruption in the Nigerian police. Have we ever asked why the police is corrupt? Do they get adequate attention in welfare for putting their lives on the line for the safety of the citizens?
We cannot justly call the police corrupt if their welfare in service for staking their lives on the job is not prioritized.
The professionalism of the police is a top demand that cannot be compromised for any reason. The sacrifice of the police is what defines the job lines.
The police officers are abandoned even in active service and it’s worse with the retired police officers. The police welfare scheme is a total failure. The penury of retired police officers is a shame to the nation.
Ideally, the Dea*th Sentence would have been the true reflection of justice to the terrorism of Nnamdi Kanu. I salute the courage and humanity of Judge Omotosho.
Judge Omotosho was lenient in his ruling with the Life Imprisonment handed down to Nnamdi Kanu. The trial was convincingly transparent and fair to Nnamdi Kanu. The Judge bent backward in accommodating the reckless excessive arrogance of Nnamdi Kanu in his court.
