TendOcean™ remote-sinking VDSB completes tests at WHOI
A shortened version of our Variable Displacement Spar Buoys has been successfully tested in @CascoBay, Maine, and in the test tank at @WHOI . An r.f. link commands sinking and its submerged duration. @TropicSeaweed@ARPAE
It must be kelp farm deployment season
It's been a busy couple weeks at TendOcean™ with farm systems being shipped to Sweden, Alaska, and Iceland, including 90#, 200#, and 400# TendOcean™ twin-shank drag-embedment anchors.
@TropicSeaweed@Roberson_Lo An interesting windfall. With spiny lobster going for $10 per pound, maybe the farm needs re-thinking. Instead of 32 growlines and 4 variable displacement spar buoys, consider 32 buoys and 4 growlines. @ARPAE
Out fine tuning the kelp gear at Noble Ocean Farm in Simpson Bay, Prince William Sound. A beautiful day on the water in advance of a TendOcean™ catenary array workshop in Cordova, AK. @GreenWaveOrg@ARPAE@uafairbanks#seaweed#kelp
A forest of anchors
Forty 200-pountd TendOcean™ anchors off to the hot-dip Galvanizing shop. Soon they will support a forest of sugar kelp in Connecticut and Maine.

Eucheuma Catenary Farm heads to Puerto Rico
What do you do when your four variable-displacement spar buoys won't quite fit in the container? You tilt them.
These, and eight 400-pound TendOcean™ anchors are headed to La Parguera, PR. @TropicSeaweed@MBLScience@ARPAE@DOE

TendOcean delivers a new kelp harvest system.
Bren Smith of GreenWave and TendOcean™ developed this ramp and hopper system for his Privateer 24 farm vessel. We turned to Wilson Welding in Salisbury MA to fabricate it and tend to the mounting details. @GreenWaveOrg#seaweed
TendOcean™ will be there.

Another Farm-in-a-Box from TendOcean
Today a crate containing three 5-line spreader rigs and three single-line rigs begins it's trip to Eureka, CA to become a bull kelp farm in Humboldt Bay. The project is a cooperation between @humboldtstate and @GreenWaveOrg. #kelp#seaweed
Who says heavy lift can't be zippy. TendOcean worked with Response Marine of Newburyport, MA and Wilson Welding of Salisbury, MA on this affordable 6m twin-hull with a 1.2m x 2.4m moon pool for seaweed farm deployments and crop servicing. Damisela sports a pair of 25hp outboards
New story up on our website about the concept and construction behind our custom-built vessel for seaweed seeding, harvesting, and research. Video and vision: @TendOcean@domenicm

TendOcean in Kodiak
We are about to start harvesting 5 miles of growline lush with Saccharina latissima and Alaria esculenta. Here, Cliff, Dave, Alf, Scott, and Nick are giddy with excitement while Dom is behind the camera. @ARPAE@TropicSeaweed @SeaweedScience @uafairbanks
We are ground truthing our kelp-drag model and the performance simulations that helped specify the farm components.
Sponsored by the @ENERGY@ARPAE program, this farm has 25,000 feet (7,625 m) of growline. In a couple weeks we will know the size of the crop it produced.
Kelp Farm Instrumentation -
We cleared the lush growth off the ends of this 400' growline to install submersible 1,000-lb tension load cells to measure kelp drag during this period of large tidal cycles here in Kodiak, Alaska prior to harvest.
