@RBKC It’s been over two weeks since my belongings were removed by your council without notification. I have emailed everyone I possibly can several times and still have no response or information about where they were placed so I can retrieve them.
I got a message from my neighbour yesterday saying they packed up all my belongings and took them to an undisclosed location. They didn’t notify me. I’ve been asking for them to allow my brother to do it for weeks. Family photos dumped on the lawn which my neighbour salvaged.
We’re finally about to book our flight to come to London but where do we stay? Our case is under review by RBKC and we don’t have access to the flat anymore, even if we just want to pack up our belongings and move out. So what’s the need of coming? @RoyalFamily@realDonaldTrump
Evict me from that property before I can raise funds to come to the UK and sort my life out and get back on my feet with dignity (which I would have been able to do with relative ease if you didn’t stop my benefits) and don’t be shocked when you get evicted from Earth herself.
This is after the court said last year that they will follow a formal eviction process and I should stay in the property until I receive an official eviction notice which I can appeal. Till now no formal eviction notice has come so why are they suddenly removing my belongings?
It’s like I knew something was coming, I just received an email from another department in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea saying that they’re discharging their housing duty to me and will remove my belongings from the property soon. @RoyalFamily@realDonaldTrump
This is what I mean by people falling through the cracks. Something that’s just meant to be a short period of misfortune that you’re meant to bounce back from literally cripples you permanently and becomes a lifetime of misfortune that reverberates into the life of your children.
You can’t be put on a watch list by Camden council shortly after you give birth and escape domestic violence and end up unwatched in another council because someone dropped the ball and didn’t put you in secure accommodation and there’s no real continuity or follow through.
They’ll say apply for PIP (a payment meant to help disabled people like I was while in the UK). You apply and get rejected so there’s no assistance for you as a solo parent with no close family. When you flee the country to save your life, you’re penalised. Something has to give.
Any sane and humane society would have given a woman in my circumstances which were completely beyond my control, time to get back on my feet. At least two years of benefits so I could take care of my health and return when I had recovered. Not put the final nail in the coffin.
The UK system has become so hostile even to the most vulnerable of its own citizens. There is no dedicated case worker, every time you try to present your case you speak to someone different. Even the local MP’s have no power to help. If you don’t brace yourself you will die.
I only went on benefits after having my son and escaping domestic violence. I have never depended on the system until I absolutely needed to. The system is broken and needs a complete overhaul. I stayed alone in London in temporary accommodation for seven years without leaving.
@RoyalFamily@Keir_Starmer Thankfully I am a very strong person. What if I wasn’t so strong? Many people are falling between the cracks in the UK. The people that are getting ahead and surviving are the ones who know how to game or play the system. This is what you have created.
Why wasn’t I given a permanent place to stay? Why did I have only a month to go and get medical treatment for a severe condition? After a month they cut you off. I spent two years abroad receiving medical care I couldn’t get in the UK and I’ve been cut off from everything.
I am still in Accra waiting to get back to London in July. There is a squatter in my flat in London. I’ve called the police and they say they can’t do anything about it. You see what happens when you make me an unsecured tenant? @RoyalFamily@realDonaldTrump deal with this asap.
Imagine being sick for over two years due to crises and complications from sickle cell trait, unable to receive any treatment from the NHS, fleeing to Ghana as a UK citizen and losing all my benefits and my home? I’ve only started recovering in the last six months. Just imagine.
