The heavily armored “New” Scottish Pikemen/Men at Arms were able to withstand the hail of English Longbowmen, a tactic that had worked brilliantly for the English in the past;
This battle wasn’t decided by the longbow; the morale, tactics, and experience of the English commanders are what won the day.
Note the “bellows” sallet they are both wearing, similar to the extant example below dated to 1490-1520.
