I'm now mostly hanging out in my new home online, 'Meandering over the Pebbles', where I'm blogging about work & life adventures, documentaries & nuclear stuff. Come say hi! https://t.co/jOHMQlMHj5
Join @GRNHM_NVDA for their next online event looking at the relationship between Britain's nuclear history, colonialism, and big tech.
📆 Wednesday, 13 May
⏲️ 7:00-8:30pm (UK)
Register: https://t.co/x0PpNICAqZ
Last call for tonight’s essential webinar with @GRNHM_NVDA to hear about the past & present legacy of British nuclear colonialism on Western Shoshone tribal land: From Bombs to Data Centres, tickets via Eventbrite, starting at 7pm UK time (Wed 13th May)
Honoured to be taking part in this webinar next month, a rare opportunity for UK campaigners to hear direct from the Western Shoshone about the toxic ongoing legacy of British nuclear tests in Nevada with new updates on contamination & the connection to AI https://t.co/ocFysrUmzU
There will be many opportunities to reflect on the 40th anniversary of #Chernobyl this month but I can highly recommend this one: a retreat at the Othona Community in Essex with artist Angenita Teekens & novelist Philippa Holloway @thejackdawspen#nuclear
I've started a film club! I'm loving sharing a slow cinematic journey across our atomic age with members of The Film Thread - and this month we're watching razor-sharp 90s US doc The Plutonium Circus. Join us? Link in the header #nuclear#film🎬🪡⚛️
This month marks a whole decade of work by of an organisation whose support & mentorship has been *invaluable* to parents/carers working in film & TV, me included. I hope one day they won't be needed anymore but till then, I'm wishing @RaisingFilms a very happy 10th birthday!🎂🍾
@BrightonHoveCC has the contract with @BetterPoints finished now? I notice that I’m not receiving points for any activities now and there are no challenges listed…
@BetterPoints hi has the contract you had in Brighton & Hove finished now? I notice that I’m not receiving points for any activities now and there are no challenges listed…
If anyone here’s still seeing my messages (waves hopefully!) I’d love to invite you to this FREE online event I’m hosting discussing #nuclear apocalypse in 1980s #film & TV in Britain & America with @DPU_Hum_Ctr@min_kyookim https://t.co/oOIjKMXnu2
@CityFibre I registered years ago. No updates have ever been sent despite someone coming to my door in summer 2023 telling us it would be live in 3-4 weeks. Astonishingly poor customer communication. Keeping people in the loop would go a long way in maintaining goodwill.
@CityFibre it’s over a year since you did the installation on my street in Brighton. One of your reps came round last summer saying there was a just week or two of testing to do.Months later we’ve heard nothing. When will we actually be able to start using CityFibre broadband??🙏🏻
Psychogeography & mental time travel in this week's blog as a film screening brings back formative memories of my days at the glorious @MECCambridge https://t.co/rACl6iut4e #Cambridge#womeninfilm
Just seen that #Threads is screening at the wonderful @TheGardenCinema in Covent Garden tomorrow night. Amazing opportunity to see it on the big screen (if you can face it!) https://t.co/48BXiMuHwf
A couple of weeks on from reliving the trauma of #Threads40 on its anniversary BBC screening, I've published my deep dive piece revisiting the film - and its vital & urgent ongoing relevance @ianmac67_SE @CNDuk@ByYrSide https://t.co/JAn8SdxZtQ
@ianmac67_SE @CNDuk@ByYrSide That's super interesting and definitely not a positive development. But I can totally see it being the case 😳 My Threads piece is finished now - will post it up here in a sec (probably no-one will see it thanks to the X algorithm but you're in it so definitely want you to!)
I wrote a bit about #Threads after re-watching last week (https://t.co/A3CjFYJFCq) but am planning sth more detailed in the next week or so & would love to include some other perspectives/thoughts/memories alongside mine if anyone's up for that? @CNDuk @ianmac67_SE @ByYrSide
