"The proof is in the pudding & the demand of more than 54k applications for only 20k spots shows that parents want more scholarships to help empower families with educational freedom & our legislators should act this session." @GlennJacobsTN@DailyCaller

The Better Spending, Better Schools Act is a step toward stronger transparency and stewardship in Tennessee public education. Clearer insight into how school dollars are spent can help families, communities, and decision-makers better understand how resources support students.
Thank you, Tennessee legislators, for putting students first!
🚨BREAKING: Better Spending, Better Schools Act passes the Senate 25-5. The legislation now heads to @GovBillLee for signature.
The law will mean better informed education spending on students, increased transparency & accountability.
TN is leading the nation in education.
Bush: In education, sometimes the most important things are the least glamorous. Student assessment and school accountability rarely make headlines but are key to academic success https://t.co/rBnA8R3zad
We were pleased to see @VoteDawn, @jadamlowe and other members of the Advisory Committee on Innovations in K-12 Education approve a list of recommendations that doesn't include reductions in annual state testing.
Instead of changing the state's assessment system, which is driving student success, committee members recommended studying changes to the local assessments that school districts require to track student progress. This is the right approach for Tennessee students.
Big news out of Tennessee: 3 major policy proposals that put students first are already in the win column.
✅ Education Freedom Scholarships expanded to 35,000 students
✅ $40 million investment in charter school facilities
✅ Automatic enrollment in advanced math pathways for middle schoolers
From expanded choice and educational opportunities to greater transparency, Tennessee is showing what’s possible when policy follows what’s best for all kids.

TN House passes Better Spending, Better Schools Act 86-4, with overwhelming bipartisan support.
If passed, our state can be a national leader in reporting how communities invest resources to benefit students in public education. The bill will be considered later today by the Senate Finance Committee.
