@MattWalshBlog Brutal truth…most conservative media/influencers would rather use their platforms to talk about what they hate for rage clicks rather than elevating artists they should be supporting. Those of us willing to speak up against woke ideology are on our own.
Agree with you on a lot Shooter but streaming is just a distribution medium and the one with the best chance to replicate an artist’s intention sonically (from a resolution standpoint at least). It’s the present and way forward for anyone wanting max exposure of their art. Pulling out only ensures more junk music gains ground and further clutters the space. I press vinyl for those that dig it like me on every release and have cd’s but the reality is most people don’t have a way to play either. We just need to figure out a way to make streaming pay better.
It’s a joke. The music business will stay in this “nobody’s making money on albums so you gotta tour non stop if you want to survive” until artists wake up to how they are stealing all of the revenue from us and pull out of streaming all together. This isn’t a “renegotiate through federal pressure” thing, this is a “this is toxic and it’s killing art” kind of situation.
@GDarrenStout@shooterjennings Currently, downloads are better for supporting the artist you’re actually listening to (and the audio quality is probably better) but most people choose streaming for the convenience and massive catalogue. Can’t blame ‘em. I have a sub and buy vinyl for a different experience.
@BaseballWRLD_ The modern pitcher (throwing in the upper 90’s) doesn’t go deep enough into games and pitch counts are more heavily adhered to so less opportunities for wins.
@BaseballBros No, those turnstiles at baseball stadiums are special…everyone that passes through them becomes their 11 years-old self again. The only grown-ups at a baseball stadium are the umpires.
@dustyslay I’ve had Reba’s “I’m a Survivor” stuck in my head for weeks…I’d happily trade ya. “A single mom who works two jobs/who loves her kids and never stops”…over and over like that scene in The Shining were Jack types “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"
Agree. A user centric model would help…If sub fee revenue was allocated ONLY or at least mostly to the artists a subscriber actually listened to that would go a long way in keeping independent artists with an actual fan base afloat. All of the $ going into a big pot then getting distributed to the biggest artists whether a subscriber listened to them or not is a bad model…and one that obviously benefits the major labels immensely.
