Hey, athletic trainers.
Seeing Damar Hamlin collapse probably stirred up a lot of emotions in you.
You all seem to have/know someone who has a story of a collapse, a save.
I just want you to know, I see you.
I hear you.
We can all do better, for the kids & their love of a game.
NATA sends our prayers to Damar Hamlin and his family, the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, and the athletic trainers and physicians who performed emergency treatment on the field during the Buffalo Bills/Cincinnati Bengals game last night. NATA is committed to the health...
YPs- As we all continue to process the situation in Cincinnati last night, this is a perfect time to have the big conversations with your coaches and AD. Is your school prepared for an incident like what we saw last night?
You’re shocked seeing this because it happened on national TV, when you didn’t expect it.
But what if I told you it happened on sidelines across America at the high school level five times this summer that an athlete collapsed? #athletesATrisk
Sudden cardiac arrest that appears to be “commotio cordis” is something likely taught in a 1-hour lecture in school. Every athletic trainer prepares at minimum annually to manage this life-threatening situation. Last night you saw the very best of preparation & teamwork. 🙏🙏
Praying for Damar Hamlin. Praying for his family and teammates. Praying for the medical staff that went and did what we are trained and practice to do. #MedicalProfessionals but people and I know this will be hard.
