@MommyJosch @aw_beksinski I think Carlos Ramos could’ve handled it much better. Instead of de-escalating it he wound up being the main attraction. It’s a final. Play it cool.
Can you imagine if Serena hit a line judge like that? People would be calling for her to be arrested for attempted murder. Djokovic is getting rightly pilloried but nowhere near what would’ve happened if it was Serena. #USOpen2020
Disappointing from Kenin. She’s so much better than that. Still, happy for Mertens. One of the nicest most humble people on tour. Sofia will be back stronger than ever. Although I’m not sold on dad as the only coach... #USOpen
@GT1sportsfan Serena did after she was defaulted too. However she’s skipped press many times after a loss. I think Djokovic was broken mentally by this so I’m giving him a pass. Not for his anti-vaxx or Adria tour stuff tho.
FAA looks like he’s broken mentally. Playing Dominic Thiem can do that to you. He has the same game style as FAA and has been doing it longer and better for a while now. #usopen2020
@MommyJosch @aw_beksinski Right I was talking about 2009 when she had an incident with a. Chair umpire. Not a DQ but effectively one as it was match point. You get my meaning.
@GT1sportsfan As for 2018 she shouldn’t have been tossed. She was assessed a game penalty but the next infraction would’ve been a default. Surely you don’t think she should’ve been defaulted for arguing with a chair umpire?
@GT1sportsfan Ok not tossed but effectively was as it was a point penalty on match point. They were following the steps as they should’ve. Djokovic was tossed because his infraction results in an immediate DQ. Look at what happened to Nalbandian.
@LucyBush She was absolutely DQ’d when she threatened the line judge and she was assessed a game penalty from Carlos Ramos which follows the protocol laid out. I don’t know why you’re thinking she didn’t have consequences. https://t.co/rxjJN8XJ3R
@aw_beksinski I can find you plenty pics of Djokovic arguing angrily with a line judge. Every time Serena has hit the opposing player with the ball during a point she’s apologized profusely. She’s also never hit the ball in anger anywhere close to anyone.
@netax I can find you a million pics of Djokovic arguing angrily with a line judge. And I wasn’t trying to make it racial, although black women are often stereotyped as angry or out of control in this country.
@LucyBush I think it’s a fair comparison after what happened when she threatened that line judge. It’s also a statement about the inherent misogynoir that she faces as a black woman. It’s a very USA specific comment.
