@pavyg@AlexZverev And heartbreaking losses (like us open 2020, French open 2024 with big leads in both matches) and a career threatening injury at French open 2022.
One of the most well deserved slam winners!
@pavyg@AlexZverev@rolandgarros And Ben Rothenberg has gone strangely silent ๐
But congrats to Zverev! A GREAT day and GREAT weekend for tennis. One of the best in recent memory
@pavyg@rolandgarros First 2 rounds should be easy enough (Perricard on a faster surface would be very tough, but on clay Djokovic should handle him easily). If the rest of the draw holds, gonna be very tough. But he never shies away from a challenge. If any 39yo can navigate that draw, he can :)
@pavyg Sadly itโs now scheduled for 2028, not 2027. Total shambles.
After the shambles of 2023, they initially promised it in 2026. Of course that didnโt happen. Each masters should be mandated to have at least 1 roof.
Please help spread the word:
Iโm honestly shocked to see my illustration being used on T-shirts sold at the Monte-Carlo Masters without my permission or a licence.
I never expected something like this from such a major tournament.
If someone from the organisers sees this, please contact me so we can resolve this properly.
@montecarlorolex@atptour
@pavyg At what point does the brain washed tournament realize they need a roof?
Total shambles. Two days this year have been 100% rainouts. And some havenโt even played their opener yet. Ridiculous!
Not to mention the ridiculous 7+ hr delay before last years final.
Hi @unitedโฆneed a little help. Flew from PSP to Florida yesterday and none of my bags arrived. Kind of need them to play in the @MiamiOpen ๐โฆ.can you help?
@pavyg@cobollifla Seeing Bergs lose like that after what he did to Garin (and then being REWARDED for basically INJURING Garin), to see Bergs lose like that at the same competition, Davis cup, was quite special ๐
@Yolitatennis@pavyg@AustralianOpen Given his results this year it might have been better to face Sinner/Alcaraz in the quarters than the semis. When he faced them in the quarters he won. Semis, went 0-10 in sets this year.
Hes got nothing to prove now. But a 25th slam would be a lovely bonus
@TennisPuneet Well as it turns out it was kinda irrelevant in the end with the final lasting only 20 min so those who missed it didnโt really miss anything.
And the womenโs final starting at 6 is much better for those on the 9-5
Djokovic withdrew from Cincinnati.
A bit surprised, he usually likes playing there but good to get rest for US open. Looked hurt in the Wimbledon semifinal.
Hoping he can have a good run!
@pavyg Four match points sadly :(
Gael also confirmed this is his last time playing Toronto. Mens Canadian open goes to Montreal next year, but sad news. Gotta enjoy every moment of Djokovic Monfils and Wawrinka, you just never know when it will all be over :(
Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic have been forced to withdraw from the 2025 National Bank Open in Toronto as they recover following Wimbledon. Jack Draper has also withdrawn due to injury.
@DjokovicFan_ Im nothing but proud of the man. Clearly hampered vs an opponent who knows how to handle him, but Nole still fought with everything he had, no matter how little. Saved 3 MP at the end, went down fighting.
24 slams is nothing to be ashamed of. Done it all, won it all. Im happy.
@pavyg@DjokerNole He did his best. Iโm proud. Hopefully he still has another good year or two in him, but at this stage itโs gonna be very difficult to stop Carlos/Sinner at majors.
