For example youth can be at the frontline to design and implement project to protect their community, while they are also pressuring a major change in the global process

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace @miaamormottley Whereas leaders in the Global North like @BorisJohnson and @POTUS talk #BlahBlahBlah, meaning that they fail to deliver on promises to their own people and the international community. For example, they have not delivered the $100bn year in climate finance that was promised.

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace It's important not to generalise, but inspirational leaders from the Global South like @miaamormottley speak truth to power, they know what their people and indeed their countries need to survive and thrive beyond the #ClimateCrisis and they won't accept anything less than this.

@InezaGrrace @boom_saloon I guess it's both a burden and a duty then! #ClimateJustice needs solidarity not only across geographies but also across generations, not to mention across species and all spheres [cryosphere, biosphere...etc.]

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace #LossAndDamage is important because those who are being affected most by the #ClimateCrisis are the least responsible for it and they have the least resources to deal with it. Therefore, when we talk about #LossAndDamage solutions we need to be talking about #ClimateReparations.

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace But that means we should be incredibly supportive of youth like @InezaGrrace who are doing this work, by amplifying their voices and their work and demanding that they can contribute to the decision making process at the UNFCCC COP and other forums.

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace So I suppose I am youth adjacent at 30+, but I think the responsibility for change stills falls very much on those who are not youth in our governments, and that the youth have taken on the incredible burden of demanding that our leaders wake up and make #ClimateJustice happen.

@InezaGrrace @boom_saloon For me, @InezaGrrace, as a citizen of the Global North who is responsible for the #ClimateCrisis, the actions of countries of the Global South like Rwanda, have always given me hope, because they are the driving force behind climate action, and they are the moral leaders!

@boom_saloon @InezaGrrace I think"tangible hope for a collective future" is so very important @InezaGrrace! For me, what I hope to contribute to is making it possible to imagine - and therefore make possible - is a climate just future.
