Rajbongshi identity politics never became one strong WB-Assam umbrella movement because the community was divided by state borders. West Bengal and Assam produced separate leaders, separate organisations, and separate political priorities.
Remember an incident from 2010 when a lady from Mizoram was assaulted in Guwahati by calorie dense ugloid aunties who accused her for ‘polluting the neighbourhood’. Her only fault was wearing jeans n shirt, looked typical hill tribal, spoke in English cuz didn’t know Assamese.
i know that if this woman had asked for police protection, the police might have supported the aunty or said nonsense about the girl's clothes. but as you can see, the lady is abusing, harassing, and defaming a woman's character based on her clothes. these things often happen to-
1) A socialite trying to find her next sugar daddy who can buy her a designer bag
2) A trad wife who cooks you a bento before you leave for office
3) Has just recovered from low self esteem post surgery, now trying to apply for jobs
