PLAYTEST IS LIVE! *airhorn sounds* 📢📢📢!
People are loving our cozy world so far! 🥰
Hop into the Crossroads and join the gang
(or play solo, that's cool too!)
China’s first AI-generated theatrical film, ‘Sanxingdui: Future Past’, has bombed at their domestic box office, only making $121,000 USD against a budget of $1.5M USD.
In contrast, the crudely animated ‘Niu Lai’ made nearly $10M USD against a budget of $200-500 USD.
@FrajdaGames Ahh gotcha, understood! Unity does seem to be the better choice considering all that. I am an Unreal dev myself but it did take many, many years to become adept at it. So I can definitely understand how it's tough to approach. Then again, blueprints are easy and fun to use!
@FrajdaGames Great engine, too. But so are the other options! I'm curious why you tried Unity over Godot though, seems like most game engine pivots are that direction
@SilvanuzGamedev@IndieGameJoe I have no major issue with them personally. I love the variety of games available nowadays. But they definitely don't evoke much imagination
@IndieGameJoe You've been finding some real gems the past couple days. The gimmicky stuff is fun... but maybe gets a bit monotonous and lacking that magic you've missed.
This is how we imagined action figures would battle it out if they came to life in the kitchen.
This is our game, Hypercharge. Five of us have spent the last ten years making it, and we're still not done yet.
Sarge's Heroes and Small Soldiers were a huge inspiration!
This indie game is like Skyrim but with pixel art
- Explore a huge open world full of secrets
- Sneak into crypts, caves and houses
- Fight on a grid with quick time attacks
- Eight years in the making
Game is World of Anterra.
A game for people who still want to learn how to draw
- Walk around a garden of statues and sketch them
- Real sculptures 3D scanned for accurate anatomy
- Dynamic lighting mode to practice shading
Game is Figure Drawing Garden.
Maybe, though you edited out some important bits, he actually says "But what worries me is that people can become so satisfied with the work itself that the start mstaking that satisfaction for having created something good. That's what I'm afraid of."
@HannyahZ I feel like this greater response shows a more nuanced side to it, highlighting potential downfalls. Very interesting, thank you for the share @HannyahZ
@goldpixelpaws That's not going to happen. Steam would have to hire an army to vet all the games which would be quite expensive for them. Like, maybe 1 mega-yacht's worth from Gabe's fleet...
I was in a very dark place before doing all this. I was not well at all. But helping others, meeting new friends, and just seeing the joy I can bring to devs gives me something to wake up for
I am very grateful I get to do this. Thank you guys, truly ❤️
