@sola_chad In your fantasy world, maybe that happens. I joined the Church after having read the NT multiple times, knowing the word "pope" wasn't in it.
Until the 16th century, it was not assumed that the genealogies of Matthew and Luke were of Joseph and Mary. They were Joseph's natural and levirate succession, assuming Jacob was his natural father and also Heli's brother, who had died and left Joseph's mother a widow.
@Xtopher_Uzo No. The TLM was nearly abolished following the promulgation of the Novus Ordo, until Summorum Pontificum. Now, with Traditionis Custodes, they once again cannot in most dioceses. Also there would have been no Ecclesia Dei w/o the push by Abp. Lefebvre.
@pontificatormax@MDLatinMass@CatholicSat Minimum condition #1-
Offer the Novus Ordo Mass as a "demonstration of good faith"- which was what they asked of Abp Lefebvre.
@Simply_Tessy Jesus started a Church, said it would be a light on a hill (not invisible), with apostolic succession accompanied by laying on of hands, as occured with Paul and Barnabas.
@pontificatormax@realsedepicante I don't understand this statement. Eucharistic miracles are associated with a "lack of belief in the Real Presence"? I've never heard that before and can't "parse it out" as they say. Genuinely curious what you mean.
In the past couple of years I read biographies of Washington, Grant and MacArthur. All three were reported as not taking cover when being shot at. Bravado or a sense of destiny?
"They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again."
-St. Ignatius of Antioch, 110 a.d.
