To me, the best comp to LeBron going to Philly isn't Hakeem in Toronto or Ewing in Seattle: it's when Scottie Pippen went to the Blazers, because Pippen joined a loaded Blazers team when he was no longer in his prime and they won 59 games and should've won the title in 2000.
Caleb Wilson on continuing to play in Summer League when other high draftees have sat out:
“I feel like I’m different than all of them. Not to say they don’t, but I enjoy basketball. I love this sh*t… I felt yesterday was weird because I expected Darryn to play. So when I came into the game, I didn’t have the right mindset.”

Victor Wembanyama reads a Harry Potter book at a park.

Jaylen Brown became the youngest person in American history to lecture at Harvard, collaborated with MIT on the Bridge Program, which focuses on getting Black youth in Boston into STEM, became the youngest elected vice president of the NBA Players Association, speaks fluent Spanish, has a nonprofit called Boston Xchange inspired by Black Wall Street, whose goal is to generate $5 billion in additional generational wealth for marginalized communities, all while becoming Finals MVP. Also, his mother has a Ph.D.
“It’s a disease that he’s so smart and he’s not marketable.” - media
Some mediocre, insecure white people seem to believe that if you’re not mixed with white, you can’t be brilliant. To cope with that belief, they dismiss exceptional Black people as “arrogant” or invent some other negative narrative like affirmative action and DEI to cope better.
One reminder about Kawhi + Toronto:
Outgoing Raptors owner Larry Tanenbaum is chairman of NBA's Board of Governors.
Per @michaelgrange (9/12/25): "It will be Tanenbaum who will presumably have a voice in what - if any - sanctions are levelled against Ballmer and the Clippers."
I think Micah Nori said more in this one answer about how he wants the Blazers to play than Tiago did over the entire course of last season

Trade Grades for the LaMelo Ball Trade
Timberwolves - A+++++++
Minnesota FINALLY gets an elite playmaking guard to pair with the Rudy Gobert timeline. One of the best passers in the league and a player who immediately serves as a great table-setter for Rudy's long rolls, Ant can play off the catch a bit more and Minnesota is WAY better than they were with Julius Randle. The defensive infrastructure can more than protect LaMelo. McDaniels will continue to defend ball handlers and LaMelo's positional size allows him to hide on wings
Hornets - D
The Hornets FINALLY had a good season and they stripped away the driving force of it. Little disclaimer here, high slips and ghosts to get Kon the ball in advantage won't work quite as well with a 6'0" point guard instead of a 6'7" guard
Unbelievable to me here. There's a good chance Minnesota conveys zero actual swaps in this deal because Minnesota is just simply better than Charlotte.
I like Naz for the Hornets which saves this from being an F, but man. Why.
The Grizzlies moved down five spots yesterday and received 5 2nd-round picks.
They use three of them to acquire Isaiah Stewart, who fits right in with Memphis’ tough culture.
Literally got him for free. Amazing moves by GM Zach Kleiman.
BREAKING: Micah Nori has agreed to become the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, sources tell @TheAthletic. Nori was lead assistant of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the past five years. Nori, 52, signed a one-year deal with team options for each of the next two seasons.
“Jonathan and Joe both said so many times ‘get out the middle get out the middle get out the middle’ and here you are on either side of the middle.”
oh Ozzy GAGGED 🥰
