The initiative also reflects the Conference’s focus on practical partnership, demonstrating how Jamaicans at home and abroad can work together in rebuilding a more resilient Jamaica.

Prime Minister Dr. the Most Honourable @andrewholnessjm officially opened the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in St. James on Tuesday, June 16, where he delivered the keynote address.
The Prime Minister addressed a capacity audience that included Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator the Honourable @kaminajsmith; State Minister in the Ministry, the Honourable @terrelonge2016; Cabinet Ministers; members of the Diplomatic Corps; Permanent Secretaries and representatives across Government; private-sector partners; and delegates from across the Jamaican Diaspora.

As members of the Diaspora continue to arrive in Montego Bay and Jamaica prepares to welcome its global community for the 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade this morning joined the Calvary Baptist Church in fellowship.
The church service offered a fitting start to Conference week, grounding the days ahead in faith, reflection and gratitude. It also carried deep symbolic meaning, as Calvary Baptist continues to stand as a testament to recovery and resilience following the damage it sustained during Hurricane Melissa last year.
Foreign Minister Senator the Honourable @kaminajsmith and Minister of State, Honourable @terrelonge2016, joined Reverend Michael Shim-Hue, faith leaders, government officials, members of the Diaspora and other stakeholders in reflecting on the values that continue to sustain Jamaica: faith, perseverance, unity and service.
