@realmattcarr Those are people with platforms on X. Lol I literally don’t know one person, nor have I engaged with anyone that thinks the way you narratized this. Zero. I’m just sayin’…
@realmattcarr X isn’t real and I have literally never met someone that fits this narrative in the wild. Literally nobody I have ever engaged with in real life approaches things in this way. Like, not one actual person. Do we see them On X…sure.
@bezalelplace@osucowboytc I don’t understand this zero sum attitude?! Nobody is arguing this. I believe wholeheartedly in loving GOD and loving our neighbor. But the gospel is his. All his.
@JosiahHawthorne This is actually well said. Which is why I don’t like the specific mantra that you can’t be a Christian if you vote dem. I would argue that no Christian should vote dem based on their platform, policies and plan for governance…but the distinction is important.
I’m communicating clearly that the gospel has nothing to do with us. It’s all his. The gospel is the good news. No correction needed. Our good works and witness aren’t the gospel. So, share the truth in love…because it’s the most loving and compassionate thing we can do with those that are lost.
@osucowboytc@BernieDainton I don’t disagree with this sentiment. With that said, By-product is inferred outward expression to me brother. I was using that interchangeably in meaning. But again, this isn’t the gospel. Our actions aren’t the gospel.
@BernieDainton@osucowboytc No, it’s not. The gospel is the good news. It’s all his. It’s not about me. Or you, or our good works. It’s about what he did. Pure and simple…and thank you lord for saving a sinner like me.
Brother, I don’t have a different view than you on how Christians should live. Hopefully my life is a testament to living out my faith. But my brother, this isn’t the gospel…it’s because of it that I love. Because GOD saved me and transformed my heart, I seek to serve and love. It’s a by-product of the gospel. I’m simply prioritizing the importance of sharing the gospel with the lost. That’s how people get saved. Message doesn’t change, but of course our lives in word and deed support the proclamation. It gives life to good news in a real way. I was an atheist at one time, and I thank GOD for the men that poured into me. And especially those that shared the truth of the gospel with me.
