JC and James Metcalf are firefighters from Montana working the #CaldorFire. They protected and saved 55 homes in Strawberry yesterday as the fire came close.

[Mike TeSelle @MikeTeSelleTV]

Still active fire in Twin Bridges area and area west of Strawberry. Structure protection resources remain in all areas where I saw fire along 50 this morning. #CALDORFIRE @kcranews

[Mike TeSelle @MikeTeSelleTV]

I’ve gotten a lot of questions daily about Riverton/Whitehall area of #CALDORFIRE Fire still burning on south side of river. Engines remain on scene in case it jumps river. But heavy smoke, no wind as of 5:15 @kcranews

[Terri Briggs @TerriBriggs]

@KCRATeSelle @kcranews Thank you for reporting what you saw along 50 on your drive up this morning.

The #CaldorFire crossed 89 in Christmas Valley earlier this evening. This is a view looking east from Hwy 89 as we approached the roundabout at Hwy 50. Scary!

[Brian Hickey @kcraBrianHickey]

This crew from @RSVL_Fire spent the night on the #CaldorFire protecting homes along S Upper Truckee Rd in Meyers, CA. So far, we have not seen any homes damaged in Christmas Valley.

[Terri Briggs @TerriBriggs]

@CphilpottCraig Will you be touring this area again today Tuesday August 31st?
