Our Coaches Celebration Walks are off to a fabulous start! Such great learning in 3rd & 4th grade Science. We got our groove on with the whole body response in the water cycle dance. We loved the vocabulary visuals on the word walls, turn & talks, & collaboration. #fisdelevate
What a treat to visit @hi2ruchi 2nd grade class today! Readers were reading with fantastic expression using reader's theater scripts about grammar and folktales. Bravo!!! @Norris_Knights
Q3: What self-care strategies do you practice that have transferred to your classroom?
A3: I model mindful breathing and talk through how that helps reduce stress levels and negative thinking. @FisdLearns#FISDStrategyStuffers
Q2: Why is modeling and managing self-care important for your students?
A2: Students mimic what we model. If we don't take care of ourselves, they will follow suit. We must value ourselves so we can value others. @FisdLearns#FISDStrategyStuffers
Q1: What actions do you take to practice self-care and what is a goal you have set for yourself this school year to embrace self-care?
A: You can't pour from an empty cup. I give myself permission to take a nap every Sunday to refuel. @Fisdlearns#FISDStrategyStuffers
Q3: How are you helping to build community in your classroom?
A3: Intentional classroom meetings where students feel safe to share struggles and celebrations help students feel a part of not only a class but a FAMILY. @FisdLearns#fisdstrategystuffers
Q2: How do you identify student interests and incorporate them into learning?
A2: Regularly meet 1-on-1 with students and ask them about their interests, passions, & hobbies. Little conversations are huge. @FisdLearns#fisdstrategystuffers
Q1: What strategies have you used to both build & foster relationships with students?
A1: Listen, take interest in what students are interested in, and find ways to laugh each day. Find the positive in each child each day and share it publicly. @FisdLearns#fisdstrategystuffers
Q3: Once you select a tool or strategy, how do you measure student progress & for what purpose do you use the data?
A3: Quick check-ins, exit tickets, & 1-on-1 conferring are key. We can't just look at data, it must continually guide instruction.@FisdLearns#fisdstrategystuffers
