Judge Gregory Carro splits the decision on Luigi Mangione’s suppression motion. Some of the evidence is admissible including the gun and the notebook. And some of the statements are admissible including everything Mangione said prior to being “in custody.” #luigimangione
Back in New York State Court waiting to hear Judge Gregory Carro's decision on the suppression hearings which will determine what evidence and which statements will be admitted at trial. #luigimangione
This is the third week of suppression hearings in the #luigimangione case. Altoona Patrolman George Featherstone is on the stand. He was the evidence custodian and tracked every item collected from Mangione's person and property. Somewhat repetitive information, but relevant.
Officer Heuston said that the amount of money in Mangione's possession was over $7000. Apparently, during the arraignment #luigimangione blurted out that he only had less than $100. Defense claimed that Mangione was referring to the foreign currency which was valued at just $16.
Officers Samuel McCoy and Eric Heuston took the stand during the suppression hearing for #Luigimangione. Prosecution trying to show that questioning and search during the arrest process was proper. Hearings expected to extend well into next week.
Officer Stephen Fox testified during the #luigimangione suppression hearing today. Fox, who escorted Mangione from his arraignment in Blair County, said Mangione stumbled on his shackles. Fox apologized for walking too fast. Mangione said "It’s ok, I have to get used to it."

The judge just informed us that Luigi Mangione is ill today. He said we will see you on Monday. He then called the parties to the bench. #OMG#LuigiMangione
Luigi Mangione suppression hearings occurring in NYS court this week. The issue is whether the police properly administered his Miranda rights and properly obtained a warrant. If not, some or all of his statements and the evidence collected could be excluded. #LuigiMangione
