I’ve just signed this letter to Keir Starmer, telling him that a future free from homelessness starts now.
Join me and @crisis_uk to urge the government to build more social homes, fix our support systems and prevent homelessness before it starts. https://t.co/cYhr23KyJ9

Getting out of homelessness is hard, & having a criminal record just for being homeless makes it harder. The threat of prosecution has even pushed some people away from seeking help.
Now we finally have a date for the abolition of the 1824 Vagrancy Act. https://t.co/Ygm3zSUkdB
Visit our Swansea centre & you'll be getting a warm welcome from Francois. He has lived experience of homelessness & was a Crisis member. After we helped him rebuild his life, he decided to volunteer with our reception team.

Amazing to welcome the Deputy Prime Minister to visit our warehouse today, alongside Mayor @SadiqKhan and Minister @rushanaraali
We talked strategy, housing, but most of all listened to the real lives of our members who were there too.
Today local MP and Homelessness Minister @rushanaraali visited Crisis Skylight London to meet our members and learn more about the challenges facing people experiencing homelessness.
We look forward to working with the Govt as they develop their strategy to end homelessness.
We're often approached by people who want to donate practical gifts for our guests. Ideas have ranged from a warm scarf to a ton of veg!
Our warehouse in Canning Town will be open for donations 2 – 8 December, from 10am – 4pm.

We did it! 790kms, 7209 meters climbed, a few punctures and mishaps, two bikes stolen, countless acts of kindness, and one solid purpose: to end homelessness!
Our chief financial officer Cris McGuinness responded to yesterday's King's Speech in @insidehousing, praising the plan to ban no-fault evictions and saying that it is “heartening to see the new housing and planning bill at the centre of the new government’s first King’s Speech."
Over half a million renting households have been homeless in recent years.
The new govt. can now build on the announcements in the #KingsSpeech and see that these figures come down, quickly.
It can start that by creating a Unit for Ending Homelessness.

The new government must recognise that investing in housing to prevent homelessness will save cash in the long run.
"The scarcity of housing is creating a humanitarian crisis as more and more families are priced out and end up living in temporary accommodation."
Almost a quarter of Crisis staff have experienced homelessness & together with Experts by Experience panels they advise on our work & proposed projects. Any Govt plan to tackle homelessness needs the input of people who are/have been homeless if it's going to be truly effective.
📢The #GeneralElection has been called. All political parties must now commit to a long-term plan for housing that gives people hope for a positive future.
We set out some of the practical changes needed in our 10-point plan ➡️ https://t.co/xjmgIRu8d0

🗣️The General Election announcement is an opportunity to place housing at the centre of public discourse. Our 10 point plan for housing outlines a blueprint for a new gov’t to address the housing crisis.
We will continue to make the case for a housing system that works for all
BREAKING: This #GeneralElection must be the one where we decide to end to homelessness.
Now is the time to show the party leaders that winning your vote means a commitment to ending homelessness.
