BROWDER: Putin avoided mass mobilization because he understands the moment he does that people going to be very angry.

This is Putin's worst nightmare. He could never have imagined situation getting so bad.

Russians weren't angry when it was called 'special military operation', and when poor people from the regions were the ones getting killed on the frontline.

But, they'll be very angry if young men are being mass mobilized. When they do that, they'll have to close the borders so people can't leave, which will make people even angrier.

They've already cut off the internet and cut off Telegram inside Russia because they're afraid of people organizing against government.

Putin thought that with Trump in White House, Trump effectively partnering with him in his efforts to get Ukraine to surrender, his situation would improve.

But it turns out it hasn't. Trump can't solve this problem for him. And Putin is really being left hanging out to dry.

Moscow maintained a permanent naval presence there for 13 years, but that chapter appears to be over. And things are hardly better back home.

After nine years of repairs and nearly $1 billion in spending, Russia’s only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov, now appears headed for the scrapyard.

That leaves the Russian Navy looking more like the fleet of a developing country than a global maritime power. Selling the carrier is unlikely to help either — the ship is reportedly in such poor condition that no one wants to take it on.

After spending a week clearing the Russians out of the Azov Sea, Ukraine has officially moved on to doing the same on the Black Sea.

Now two days into this Black Sea campaign that destroyed 20 Russian ships in just its first 12 hours, Ukraine brings in the naval drones, hitting two huge tankers in spectacular fashion.

In the video, he speaks about the intense pressure he faced when he took office and began clearing the Ministry of Defense of corrupt schemes.

Those who passed remained in their positions. Those who failed were dismissed.
