I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Martha was a friend to so many and a fixture in Georgia politics.
She cared deeply about our state, the people in it, and the conversations that shaped its future.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Martha will remember her generosity, how she encouraged others, and her unwavering commitment to her community.
She will be deeply missed, and our prayers are with her husband Lin and their family during this difficult time.

I am growing exhausted by the constant onslaught of people posting the equivalent of a Fail Publicity Campaign for a movie that hasn’t even come out yet. Could we please just let people decide for themselves?
Love it or hate it, it’s just kind of rude to other people who are just regular people wanting to see a movie to have so many people jumping on the Fail Bandwagon…. And most of the posts are written in such a way that they are delighting in trying to make it fail…. Because that’s what the algorithm rewards.
Whether this film lives or dies is not the point. The point is that other people who just want to go see a movie are feeling like they can’t go see the movie they want to see because it feels like everyone is pressuring them not to see it…. Or pressuring them to hate it.
People deserve to go see the movies they enjoy. People also deserve to avoid seeing the movies they don’t want to see.
But nobody deserves to have the internet telling them what they should feel good about seeing and what they should feel bad about seeing.
There is so little joy in the world right now, why take away someone else’s joy just because you don’t want to see a movie?
It is okay to see supergirl if you want to see supergirl.
One severely under-discussed dynamic about the Georgia Senate race is that Ossoff has 0 Southern vibes. Like, at all. The guy looks, talks, and acts 100% like a wealthy New Englander. Meanwhile Collins, in terms of aesthetics, is about as stereotypically Georgian as you can get. And that stuff DOES matter in politics, Oz vs. Fetterman is a great example of this. I’d still consider Ossoff the favorite, but I don’t think libs who glaze him are grasping how his appeal to the state outside of Atlanta is totally nonexistent. And this is why it WILL be a close race. Candidates like John Fetterman and Mark Kelly who won by fairly comfortable margins didn’t just improve in the suburbs and urban cores, they put up solid performances in virtually every part of their state. Ossoff and his brand of secular, elitist politics are simply not capable of doing the same in a Bible Belt state. Atlanta may not be the place it once was, but outside of that Georgia is still as Georgia as it’s ever been.

A young 12 y/o boy from DeKalb County is back in the finals of the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee after finishing third nationally last year.
Congrats to the Peachtree Middle School student on another impressive run representing Georgia.
