Doctor: "Your LDL is elevated. I'd like to start you on a statin."
Patient: "What are the side effects?"
Doctor: "Some patients get muscle pain. Fatigue. Occasionally elevated blood sugar. Small cognitive effect in a subset."
Patient: "So: muscle damage, fatigue, diabetes risk, memory problems."
Doctor: "They're rare."
Patient: "But they're the list you just gave me."
Doctor: "The benefits outweigh the risks."
Patient: "By how much? Statins reduce heart attack risk by what percentage?"
Doctor: "Around 25 to 35 percent."
Patient: "Relative risk. What's the absolute reduction?"
Doctor: "..."
Patient: "If my baseline risk is 4% over ten years, a third reduction takes me to 2.7%."
Doctor: "The relative reduction is significant."
Patient: "So I take a daily pill with those side effects for ten years to cut my absolute risk by 1.3 percentage points."
Doctor: "When you frame it like that..."
Patient: "How should I frame it?"
Doctor: "I have some literature..."
Patient: "Does it list who funded the trials?"
Doctor: "..."
Patient: "I'll ask at the desk on my way out."
The year is 1950. Your doctor lights a cigarette and tells you smoking is fine. He read it in a study. He is telling the truth about having read it. He does not know, or is not saying, that the study was funded by the tobacco industry.
The year is 1958. Your doctor tells you to eat less fat. The evidence is contested. The contestation is not in the public messaging. The food industry has been helpful in clarifying which findings deserve attention. Some researchers who published contradictory data have been quietly defunded. Ancel Keys is on the cover of Time magazine.
The year is 1962. Your doctor prescribes thalidomide to your pregnant wife for morning sickness. It has been approved. The FDA gave it the green light in Europe. Twelve thousand children will be born with severe limb malformations before anyone in an official capacity acknowledges the problem. The families are told the drug was safe. The drug was approved. Both of these things remain true.
The year is 1972. Your doctor prescribes Valium. Britain is in the grip of a benzodiazepine wave that will last two decades. The dependency risk is known internally. It is not shared. Your doctor is not lying to you. He was not told either.
The year is 1999. Your doctor prescribes Vioxx for your arthritis. It is newer than ibuprofen, well-tolerated, and Merck has a study showing it works. Merck also has internal data suggesting it roughly doubles the risk of heart attack. This data will not reach your doctor for four more years. Fifty thousand people are estimated to have died in the interim. Merck eventually settles for 4.85 billion dollars. No criminal charges are brought.
The year is 2002. Your doctor prescribes OxyContin. Purdue Pharma trained its sales representatives to tell doctors the addiction risk was less than one percent. That figure came from a letter, not a study. The letter was about patients with terminal cancer on short-term doses in hospital settings. Your doctor is a GP with a patient who has a bad back. Nobody draws a distinction. Nobody is required to.
The year is 2008. Your doctor checks your cholesterol. Your LDL is elevated. You are prescribed a statin. Nobody mentions that the number needed to treat for primary prevention is approximately 250. Nobody mentions that the muscle deterioration you'll notice over the next two years is listed as a rare side effect rather than a documented pattern affecting a meaningful percentage of patients. The trial that informed the prescription was funded by the manufacturer.
Now it is today.
Your doctor has new guidelines. New studies. New consensus.
He is confident.
He has always been confident.
The confidence has never been the problem.
The confidence is, in fact, precisely the problem.
🚨 RFK Jr. dropped the hammer
“They had to DESTROY ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine… because if they admitted those drugs actually worked, the entire $200 BILLION vaccine enterprise would have COLLAPSED!”
Big Pharma chose profits over lives.
Pourquoi bosser si on te donne 11 gratuitement ?
2 years ago we had an administration celebrating Trans Day of Visibility.
Today, the federal government is posting authentic Easter content about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Don’t ever tell me elections and voting don’t matter.
I remember questioning this and refusing to get jabbed without proof of testing. Five years later the truth is out but do you remember the abuse that was handed to folks like us that simply wanted proof it was safe and effective before putting it into our children’s bodies?
In March 2021, multiple MSM "news" outlets—including ABC and CNN—reported that Pfizer's mRNA Covid injection was "100% effective in kids ages 12 to 15".
Except that turned out to be a complete lie.
Pfizer later admitted they hadn't even tested whether their "vaccine" prevented transmission before it was introduced to the market.
Millions of parents decided to get their children vaccinated based on that lie.
Five years later and not a single person has been held accountable for the countless vaccine injuries and deaths that have resulted from the myriad of lies we were fed about the "safe and effective" so-called "vaccines".
The corporate world built a religion around one lie.
That leadership is separable from understanding.
That you can run a machine you cannot read.
Musk: “At SpaceX, almost all my time is spent on engineering and design.”
Not strategy meetings. Not press tours. Not optics.
The weeds.
Musk: “If you don’t understand something at a detailed level, you cannot make a decision.”
If you need someone to translate the problem, you are not the decision-maker.
The translator is.
You are a rubber stamp with a corner office.
We built an entire economy rewarding people who speak in abstractions.
Strategy. Synergy. Alignment.
Physics does not care about synergy.
When the rocket is on the pad, the org chart does not matter.
The metallurgy does.
If you do not know where the alloy fails, you are not leading.
You are guessing with authority.
Most executives are operating on secondhand information.
Playing telephone with reality.
When you delegate the understanding, you forfeit the outcome.
They call it micromanagement.
It is the opposite.
When you understand the work, you know which failures matter and which ones are the price of moving fast.
The executive who cannot read the metal panics at every setback.
So he punishes it.
And the moment you punish failure, your team stops reaching.
They do not stop because they are lazy.
They stop because they are rational.
Nobody takes the shot when missing costs them everything.
You do not build rockets with a workforce optimizing for job security.
The further you get from the metal, the faster the company rots.
The era of the spreadsheet executive is over.
The future does not belong to the person with the best summary.
It belongs to the one who never needed one.
I did some research and I really like this guy. He worked hand in hand with DeSantis as house speaker. His policy issues are a continuation of what has made Florida the best state in the union over the past 8 years.
I want him to be our next governor.
Leadership isn’t something you claim. It’s something you prove.
I’ve served in the Navy, led a team in Afghanistan, and led in the Florida House.
I know what it takes to step up, make tough decisions, and deliver results. That’s how I’ll continue to put Florida first.
@RobertKennedyJr quietly working to make our health better. I think his work will be the legacy of this administration that has the longest lasting positive impact on our nation.
The “Universe 25” experiment, conducted by American scientist John Calhoun, is one of the most alarming studies in the history of science. It aimed to explain human societies through the behavior of a mouse colony.
Calhoun created an “ideal world” for hundreds of mice, known as the “Paradise of Mice,” where they had abundant food, water, and ample living space. Initially, he introduced four pairs of mice, which quickly reproduced, causing the population to grow rapidly.
However, after 315 days, their reproduction rate significantly declined. When the population reached 600, a hierarchy emerged, and the so-called “wretches” appeared. Larger rodents began attacking others, leading to psychological collapse in many males. Consequently, females became aggressive towards their young and did not protect themselves.
Over time, the females exhibited increasing aggression, isolation, and a lack of reproductive drive. This led to a low birth rate and higher mortality among younger rodents. A new class of male rodents, termed “beautiful mice,” emerged. They refused to mate or fight for territory, focusing only on food and sleep. Eventually, “beautiful males” and “isolated females” dominated the population.
Calhoun described the death phase in two stages: the “first death,” marked by a loss of purpose beyond mere existence, and the “second death.” Juvenile mortality reached 100%, and reproduction ceased entirely. Despite abundant food, cannibalism and homosexuality increased among the mice.
Two years into the experiment, the last baby mouse was born, and by 1973, the last mouse in Universe 25 had died. Calhoun repeated the experiment 25 times, with the same outcome each time.
Calhoun’s work has been used to model social collapse and serves as a significant reference in urban sociology studies.
I learned this a few years back and there was a lot written about this around the COVID plandemic. Asprin is an nsaid but apparently does not cause the same issues based on what I’ve read.
