Like Twitter, can never leave well-enough alone. Published author, editor, consultant, reformed journalist. Maxim: Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
My weekly newsletter, My Sunday Reader, comes out, well, every Sunday. In this testament to clever mediocrity, you will find cringe-worthy anecdotes and whatever tweaks my fancy. Subscribing costs nothing. So please click this link—https://t.co/tKhRmurKYC—to sign up. I thank you.
@murdochdavis I watched that game. Damn Leafs. You can't ever count on them when something meaningful is on the line. Six goals and you still lose? Christ.
@Thundercattttt0@teacherbailey22@01HockeyMan01 Like your local Co-op supermarket is all a commie plot? Please. And immigrants? The Chinese and Japanese built B.C. Same with the Ukrainians in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Scots built Canada practically everywhere. This country wouldn't exist without immigrants.
@staceybrotzel I remember my former wife bought my wedding ring at a Consumers Distributing location in Burlington, Ontario. We were just kids. We also liked shopping at Shoprite. It was the same concept and owned by the Hudson's Bay Company.
@Thundercattttt0@teacherbailey22@01HockeyMan01 Don't mistake democratic socialism for communism. Most people don't understand communism: the state owns every business, every property, every idea. No fair vote. No free press. That's Russia, China, Cuba. Our Canada is not that. Grocery stores? NDP floater. It won't happen.
@oldhockeycards In 1977, Terrible Ted Lindsay returned to the Detroit Red Wings as GM with the brand "Old time [later changed to "aggressive] hockey is back in town." Four years later, he was forced out. Old time hockey would forever remain "old time."
@DavidStaplesYEG I believe you've crossed the line there, buddy, with that comment. Air Canada is a private corporation. The pols can prattle on all they want, it's the AC board that decides if Rousseau stays or goes. In these existential times, diminishing our nation in this way is not helpful.
@Hebsyman 2/2 When I called back to privately complain, his co-host said, "That's just the way he is. He's not a journalist." I wondered if that's the case why is the man on the radio?
@Hebsyman 1/2 I used to listen to the Fabulous Sports Babe on WDFN out of Detroit. Good stuff. Years later, I was interviewed on Team 1260 in Edmonton for a book I'd written. One of the hosts told blatant untruths about the subject when the interview was over. I thought it poor journalism.
@KevinMcCurdy .@FlamesNation Bizarre Calgary reaction to the World Cup. Calgary fans' most hated Flames' rivals are the Oilers. Edmonton fans' most hated Oilers' rivals are the Canucks. Our feelings about the Flames are rather benign by comparison. We wish them well.
