🚨Daniel Braun, 52, spent over two decades as Campbell County’s Republican Property Valuation Administrator. Now he’s facing up to 10 years in prison for allegedly trying to groom a child.

Braun was arrested in April after an undercover sting by the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. According to court documents, he had “illicit and s*xually explicit” online conversations with someone he believed was a 14-year-old — actually an undercover detective.

In June, a Campbell County grand jury indicted him on two counts of procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, a Class C felony carrying 5–10 years if convicted. Prosecutors say he contacted the “minor” at least twice in March.

He was held on $1 million bond, later reduced, and is currently on home incarceration. Braun has pleaded not guilty and wasn’t seeking reelection this year anyway.

On July 31, Gov. Andy Beshear appointed Fred Macke III — also a Republican — to permanently replace him.

Braun spent 24 years assessing Kentuckians’ property taxes. Allegedly, he was also assessing which kids he could target online.
