@evilemilyehman - Did middles peak at Holt x Averill x Smith?
- TJ choking more and more often
(I’ve always thought A Russel is the no 1 OH for USA)
Karch is prob testing the team but I wonder if we might see Russel/Anderson/Champlin again in big matches
@evilemilyehman I think Robinson has potential. Hes still going thru the curve. Ewert is more or less moulded - again, with an attitude.
I’ve always thought Aaron + TJ is the best starting OP combo. Champlin can take over TJ when he’s moody/benched. The question is do you put Matt on OH or OP
@evilemilyehman Completely agreed! I always felt Ewert had a bit of attitude. He’d often give a face as if others failed him on those transitions. Champlin is way more grounded and complimentary. That said, a coach needs to collect more data points at the early stage - my take.
@evilemilyehman Also, it’s apparent that Karch is testing younger OHs for the last spot. At this point, Matt/TJ:Aaron are ~ locked in for the lineup. So it’s about the last spot (or two depending on where you move one to OP). I suspected he’d let Ewert play the whole game regardless for that.
@evilemilyehman All points valid. I’d add it’s still early for this group
- a few balls set too low / tight that made hitters look bad
- younger players cooked under pressure with more errors towards the end
On the flip side
- Thank god we have Christenson!!
- Matt was solid set 3-5
