This is a total fantasy. The United States controls the AI infrastructure layer, and there is no way it would let US chips and data centers be used to enable the global takeover by Chinese models. There are still ZERO deployments of Chinese AI chips outside of China! If China wants to run the world in AI, it has to make enough chips to be able to serve its models globally - and right now, it makes 1-2% of US AI compute. That just isn't going to cut it.
And to anyone who says Chinese models can just be run locally on consumers' laptop, that is increasingly not the case because AI models are getting so large. Kimi K3 requires at minimum an Nvidia B300, or a rack of less advanced chips networked together, to be able to run it at all. All AI is migrating to the cloud, where the US has the biggest advantage.
If the world described below came to pass, it would be because the United States just stood by and let its technology be used to make China the global AI leader forever. I suppose that isn't impossible, given we are doing such a poor job preventing China from using US technology to develop its AI models today! But it seems quite unlikely this will persist forever.

NVIDIA IS PREPAYING $1.5 BILLION TO A CHIP PACKAGING COMPANY MOST PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF
Amkor Technology $AMKR announced a multi-year strategic partnership with NVIDIA $NVDA to develop advanced semiconductor packaging and test technologies for next-generation AI and accelerated computing platforms.
Under the agreement, NVIDIA will prepay Amkor to help fund the expansion of its US advanced packaging capacity, part of a $1.5 billion multi-year development agreement.
The expansion specifically targets Amkor's Arizona facility, adding to its existing manufacturing footprint across Asia, part of a stated push to build full turnkey advanced packaging and test capability inside the US.
