One thing I knew but really began to understand and dig into after listening to @Amber_Abundance and the Black Joy Mixtape is the disproportionate violence that Black women face.
#ProtectBlackWomen; we have both qualitative and quantitative proof that it is not happening.
I know this is well-intentioned, but whet? How the Congressman was called to spend his public life is not to be pitied or flattened into joyless drudgery. We don’t have to imagine what a man like John Lewis could have done for us all because we have evidence of what he did.
This was where I first came across Miracle, at planning meetings for these actions. She’s a brilliant and creative person who should be being celebrated and uplifted not scrapping for resources and assaulted by cops
No, this isn’t right...
Imagine what we could have done for John Lewis if we had buried racism long ago, not what he “could’ve done for us.”
He never knew true peace in his lifetime. Let that sink in for a minute.
NEW: We asked janitors from airlines to offices to Disney how things are really being cleaned as coronavirus rages. Many raised alarms and revealed glaring problems. Dirty rags. Bathrooms that are not disinfected. (Thread)

There’s going to be a lot of politicians lifting up John Lewis’ legacy in one hand while still upholding structural racism with the other. And as soon as they’re able, they’ll return to upholding racism with both hands. We see this every MLK holiday. Sad but not surprising.
Remember, because we let CBP operate with near impunity within 100 miles of "the border", and water counts as "the border", CBP can operate with near impunity in most of the nation's big cities.
