I think people have a very tough time understanding that victims of a nonconsensual encounter offffften try to convince themselves for a long time that it was consensual before arriving to the conclusion that they were violated. It's too complicated for them to understand

@kessypleini I wouldn’t blame porn. I’m a woman, I watch a lot of porn. I know how to differentiate from fantasy and reality. It’s not fair to blame porn. Id say it’s about education on consent, but even then, men don’t seem to care.

I’ve met more survivors than I can count and I’m the only one I know whose perpetrator went to jail. I think it’s because I knew “what to do”. I knew to get a rape kit asap without showering, brushing my teeth, or eating or drinking anything. I knew to put my dress in a paper bag
