Under the brutal dictator, no Eritrean has the right to ask the why, how, when, or where questions.

Citizens are randomly taken from their homes, from the streets, and from different workplaces, including the military — which is endless slavery.

The victims, including their families and friends, have no right to ask questions or to take legal action to stand up for the victim.

How many families are sadly thinking about their father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, siblings, and relatives during today's holiday and the new year?

How many of us feel sympathy for these victims and their directly affected families?

How many of us strongly condemn such brutality everywhere and at all times?

We know what is happening today. We are free to celebrate with our nearby families or friends.

But our families back home are feeling lonely today. They miss us.

The most bitter thing is, those who were once kidnapped have no idea what today is. They have no information about their loved ones.

Can you imagine how hard it has been for more than two decades?
