This is not the usual Eri-Influenza season - the historic May/June/September months: i.e. the Anniversaries of Independence Day; Martyrs Day; and the Launching of Eritrea's Armed Struggle for Liberation, respectively) - in which Eritrea's rabid detractors habitually and predictably tune to an overdrive mode to intensify their defamation campaigns against the country.
Yet, in the past few days and for reasons not difficult to decipher, Eritrea's arch-enemies seem to have ratcheted up their wholesale defamatory assaults against the country through fake news and fabricated ancedotal stories mostly planted by intel operatives.
The National Service; the religious mores of a pious & multi-religious nation; Eritrea's developmental strategy; and, even its regional & geopolitical relations (HAARETZ fallacious newstory on bogus Eritrea-Iran ties) are not spared in this frenzied smear campaign.
As the article (link below) elucidates, the gross distortions stem from the same, decades-old, geopolitical interests of extraneous powers.
"...Eritrea’s moral voice is firmly grounded on its modern history; the transgressions and tribulations it has suffered especially in the past eighty years on account of a global governance structure that accords primacy to perceived geo-strategic interests of major powers and their local surrogates at the expense of legality and justice...".
