They seize your land and drive your people into exile to wither in refugee and IDP camps. They weaponize hunger and rapeㅡshattering the bodies and spirits of your women. They pillage what generations built, stripping away not just wealth but the very foundation of your future. And when they have stolen, killed and defiled enough— they mock the suffering they engineered, ridiculing the broken lives they forced upon you. Such is the cold, calculated cruelty of a fascist, genocidal regime! Such is Ethiopia!

#Ethiopia: #Tigray's #Ayder Hospital struggles to deliver essential services as budget cuts bite; staff, patients confront tough choices
Ayder Referral Hospital, one of the largest healthcare facilities in the Tigray region, is grappling with severe shortages of medicine, food, and funding, limiting its ability to provide essential services to patients. The hospital's financial crisis, exacerbated by recent budget cuts and the impact of the two-year war in Tigray, has forced staff and patients to make difficult choices in accessing critical care.
Berhane Gebremichael, a public relations coordinator at Ayder, described how the lack of supplies has impacted his family. Unable to access hospital-provided medication, he was compelled to purchase medicine privately for his injured daughter, despite her eligibility for free care as part of his benefits. "I am a staff member, and my daughter should receive medicines free of charge," he noted, sharing that he had spent 3,000 birr out of pocket.
Dr. Haileselassie Berhe, Chief Administrative and Business Development Director, attributes the crisis to government budget reductions after the Pretoria Peace Agreement. He highlighted the critical situation, noting that the hospital, which previously provided for 300,000 patients each month, is now struggling to serve even one daily meal to patients, leaving many, particularly those with malnutrition, at risk.

Two years ago @elonmusk told us his ‘nutty’ idea to ‘catch the largest and heaviest flying object ever made and pluck it out of the air.’
Looks like it wasn’t so ‘nutty’ after all.

#US special envoy urges #TPLF factions to resolve divisions through dialogue, reaffirms commitment to pretoria agreement
Mike Hammer, U.S. Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, told reporters in #Addis_Abeba on Friday that Tigray authorities remain committed to the Pretoria Agreement and urged them to resolve the division within the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) through dialogue.
In a press briefing, the Special Envoy stated, "Whatever the divisions might be, we urge that they be resolved through dialogue."
The statement follows the Special Envoy's meetings with key figures, including Tigray region Interim Administration President Getachew Reda and Debretsion Gebremichael, chairman of the TPLF, both of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the Pretoria Agreement earlier this week.
Amid the recent political rift within the TPLF, Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede, Deputy President of #Tigray's Interim Administration and head of the cabinet secretariat for peace and security, had previously warned factions to cease actions that could exacerbate political instability and public discord.
