🚗 FSD 14.3.3 — First Impressions
After spending some time with FSD 14.3.3, my overall takeaway is positive. Tesla clearly refined several aspects of the driving experience while continuing to push toward a more natural, hands-free future.
Here are my observations:
✅ The Good
• Nagging is noticeably reduced. I drove exclusively on Mad Max while holding my phone and consistently got an extra 15–30 seconds before intervention compared to 14.3.2. I’ve also heard users on Standard experience even fewer prompts.
• “Hey Grok” is genuinely impressive. Having hands-free access to an AI assistant while driving feels incredibly futuristic. The ability to ask questions, get information, and even create reminders during a drive is a feature I found myself using more than expected.
• Auto-park was fast and decisive. It selected a spot immediately and completed the maneuver confidently. It parked slightly close to the rear line, but overall the experience felt polished and efficient.
• Mad Max still feels like Mad Max. It appears to be slightly toned down off the line, but only marginally. The trade-off is smoother acceleration and more natural behavior, which many drivers may actually prefer.
• The immersive audio update is excellent. Music has noticeably more separation, cleaner vocals, and deeper bass. Definitely one of the most underrated improvements in this update.
⚠️ Areas That Still Need Work
• I experienced a minor phantom braking event roughly three minutes into my drive while navigating a corner on a side road. Nothing severe, but still worth noting.
• Phantom wipes are still present. They’re rare, but I encountered them and they’re not completely eliminated yet.
• Grok currently cannot set timers. This feels like a feature that should eventually be included given how useful voice interactions are becoming.
🤔 Interesting Observation
When I used “Hey Grok” to remind me of something when I arrived home, the vehicle immediately recalculated and selected an alternate route. I actually preferred my original route due to construction considerations, so this caught me off guard.
My theory is that creating the reminder triggers some type of destination or navigation refresh in the background, causing a route recalculation.
Has anyone else experienced this?
📈 Overall
14.3.3 feels like a meaningful refinement. Reduced nagging, improved AI integration, smoother driving behavior, immersive audio, and confident parking all move the experience in the right direction.
Still some phantom braking and phantom wipes to solve, but Tesla continues to make FSD feel more polished with each release. Great job @elonmusk and the entire @Tesla_AI team! 🥂
New feature in FSD V14.3.3 | SW 2026.14.6.7
In the software update that just came out the following feature has moved from “upcoming” to the “included” section
- Improved driver monitoring system sensitivity with better eye gaze tracking, eye wear handling, and higher accuracy in variable lighting conditions.
Not really sure how to test this properly…
@thelifeofsawez@AIDRIVR Yeah, I’ve had issues where FSD has a hard time seeing obstructions that are eye-level or non-standard in shape. I’m sure the image recognition will improve with further updates, but it’s good to see where the faults still lie for awareness 👍
@ChadMoran It did the same thing with me when I was parking. It backed up a little too far over the back line. It seems like others are having issues with parking as well. Hopefully they fix it in the next update 👍

@jandatesla@Tesla_AI My Dad and Grandpa were victims of a rear end collision whenever they were going 65mph in the right lane on the highway (a truck hit them at 85mph causing severe whiplash and internal bleeding).
If they were using FSD, it likely wouldn’t have happened
@TechGent6 Glad you enjoyed it! I tried to include some of the main points but still need to test out the new summon feature at 8mph (vs 6), and the new car wash mode notification, along with the lower speed profiles, but so far so good 👌
The less nag really improves the experience 💯

@RichRichg99@Fpi47759 That’s awesome! How did you get it to pull in there automatically?
I noticed some people have no issues with the car parking in their garage while others can’t even get it to enter (myself)
@Dark_Nephalem It’s definitely an improvement over 14.3.2 👍
I feel with most of these updates, it’s two steps forward and one step back, in that they make a ton of improvements, but there’s still a few regressions. Even so, I’m extremely happy with it
@BLKMDL3 These are the kinds of improvements that truly excite me. Small details most people overlook, but they’re what transform FSD from impressive to genuinely human-like.
@emceemiko Interesting. My Mad Max lasts around the same amount. I guess it just depends on what you’re doing and the surrounding environment.
There’s probably more to the calculation than we realize, but it is slowly trending in the right direction which is good to see
@Fpi47759 It still can’t park in my home garage unfortunately, it stops just before getting in there.
And I still haven’t tried it in a multilevel parking garage, but I’ll let you know when I do 👍
@broncobilly82 Pothole avoidance is horrible in cities. A family member of mine had to replace their tire because of one.
It’s definitely a hard issue to fix, but Tesla has been mentioning it for a while so I know they’re working hard to fix it
@htown_bagholder This is another one I’ve seen people complain about. A family member I know had their tire messed up from a pothole.
It’s a bigger issue than people realize, but hopefully we’ll have it soon
@drjmaj Yeah, parking lot reasoning and navigation seem to be the two achilles heels right now.
Although things are slowly getting better, it’ll still take some time. I really hope they’ll allow the user to select parking closer or further away from the entrance & away from cars
