FSD 12 at $99/month feels like a decent value. It certainly makes purchasing it for $12k not viable. It would take 10 years of monthly payments to make up for that purchase.
@wholemars Agreed! And what happens with leases? If you buy FSD on your lease, can you expect to transfer it at then? A friend of mine has been told no. But that was last week!
@MarioNawfal This is not a “win” for Tesla. To succeed,Tesla needs EVs to be a viable platform in the public’s consciousness. All this accomplishes is telling the public not to buy EVs. They won’t distinguish between $F and $TSLA when it comes to viability of the genre.
This has huge ramifications for $TSLA. Does FSD take off and support a licensing business model and Optimus in the next 2 years? Or does the company languish with Wall Street questioning demand every quarter? Hoping for the first option!!
2. V12 was a step function improvement and the next step will be even harder to achieve. We’re at 80% peak functionality but Pareto Principle says that last 20% will be even harder.
One bad quarter for deliveries and Wall Street forgets about the huge win that is FSD v12 and the incredible energy business. Smart money is buying $TSLA
@wholemars Thank you for being forthright about issues. When people keep saying everything is “perfect” they lose credibility with those of us who have experienced less than perfection. That being said, 12.3 is miles better than v11 was!
The answer is… yes! Just got the email after having tried FSD last summer. Looking forward to seeing how improved v12 actually is. Influencers claim it’s perfect but they said that about v11 too! #FSD
@wholemars I think people just get frustrated when your ever-glowing reviews don’t match the reality of their experiences. They think, “how does he do that, what’s wrong with my car?” Here’s to hoping v12 is the one!
According to the Tesla blogosphere, Tesla just released Autopark for non-USS vehicles. Of course, no one can say if it’s free, part of EAP or FSD 12 so it’s likely no one actually has it yet. #fsd
To Tesla bulls crowing about Ford’s recent announcement to halve Lighting production: stop. This is not good news for Tesla. Legacy auto has demonstrated that they cannot keep up with Tesla technologically. However….

What legacy auto *can* do is dull the shine around EVs in general. Painting EVs as an unattractive, niche platform devalues Tesla from being the industry leader of the next big thing in autos back to “that electric car manufacturer”.
Great news for people waiting to try out FSD Beta. The latest update brings FSD Beta to the 2023.12 branch which means nearly everyone who subscribes will be able to get the beta!
